Is it usual they send a nurse who collects it and then spits it into a test tube or is that just because i have pvt healthcare??

I donated nearly 30 years ago, didn't have a room you just needed to get the sample to the clinic within 30 minutes and keep it at body temperature. Had a test tube full of man-goo under my armpit in a taxi every week for a year.

Today would be tricky to Belfast

Even if I stood at Portpatrick with a strong Southwesterly wind, I would probably fall short and catch someone in the eye in Bangor

That is a cracking idea, get the NHS to have a tick box on your medical file if you are into swinging and if you match up you just go round and "churn butter" for a bit.
