Just a thought whilst on the bus!

Do most people add themselves as friends?

We have done this, because you can then see what your 'Friends Updates - Recent updates by your friends' looks like when other friends view it on the Home page.

Example: If I upload a bunch of pics I have no idea what is going to appear on the 'Friends Updates' status on the Home page ...unless I am my own friend, in which case I can check which pic is actually shown as a thumbnail on the Home page under 'Friends Updates'.

It works

Newcastle

On a previous profile I accidentally sent myself a mail.

I dunno how it happened but I thought I was replying to someone and it came back to me - it freaked me out to see that 'you emailed them 4 weeks ago' etc would appear if I viewed my profile to check updates etc.

It was a little disturbing to be fair - a real Billy-no-mates!

I befriended myself but quickly got sick of the copy n paste messages I was sending to myself.

I'm also a bit of a knob at times, so I blocked me.

Good riddance I say!

Beeston

I've messaged myself deliberately before, it's a bit long winded but here's why: About 18 months ago I started seeing a lovely lady in a vanilla relationship, I didn't want to stay on Fab as I'm essentially monogamous, but I was cynical enough to worry about deleting my profile and having to start from scratch if I ever returned - so I copied my profile and sent it to myself and put up a 'not meeting' notice. Once I was certain our relationship was going somewhere I said my private farewells to a few mates off here and hid my profile.

Well it didn't work out, so when I unblocked my profile I copied and pasted the text back in and here I am
