Gawd knows! I do remember when I was poorly as a kiddie I went downstairs to get a cuddle from my Mum and there was a horror film on .. I wasn’t allowed to watch it though but did via the reflection in the glass cabinet. It was some kind of vampire film

Christ knows. My parents are film buffs and I grew up watching films that were probably too old for me. When she was about 8 my sister was asked at school what her favourite film was - she said The little Mermaid and The Terminator. I would have been 4 and they wouldn't have stopped me watching it if she had.

I don’t remember my parents not letting me watch anything.

I grew up watching Dallas & Dynasty so have better memories of those than Playschool & muppets

When I was about 8 (in 1981) my dad had the great idea of putting on the Texas Chain Saw Massacre for the whole family. It put the shits up me the time, but it's now one of my favourites.

With a father who was a film fan, he was an early-adopter of a VCR, and we had a great system where tapes were rented by my parents, who watched them in the evening, and the rest of us would get up early the next day and watch them before school.

This meant watching the Mad Max films and all the cool ones from the time before I was ten.
