— Warm Beverages and Toddies (The Autumnal Edit) —

Covent Garden

I have a predilection for beverages. I love the heart-warming and 'inspirited' feel when savouring a smugly-satisfying cup of my favourite beverage on a nippy Autumnal day. An artisan coffee; a finely blended tea; aromatic mulled wine; a pumpkin-spiced latte (foul stuff!); a hipster hot chocolate or a hot toddy...anything that nourishes from the dusky morn' to the noonday sun until the sunset of the Nocturnal fun.

Join me and pay homage to the beverage. More so now with the autumnal days fast approaching and our palates crave for some seasonal nectar.

This gentleman loves a beverage.

No hipster hot chocolates for me.

Just a standard regular one. Curled up on the settee in front of the fire.

Ok maybe I’ll add a little bit of mint or orange syrup in the run up to Christmas.. as long as that doesn’t make me a hipster. I never want to be a hipster

Dan, I read that as "Rum" up to Christmas. That would indeed make your drink somewhat 'hipsterish'.

I enjoy the occasional cup of tea but I like to have it in my little bone China cup and saucer. It tastes much nicer.

I’m quite into filter coffee but again it needs to be in a nice thin China cup.

I like a Tassimo latte, in a tall cup.

I like a Horlicks every once in a while and that is acceptable in a mug

I think that about covers it. I think the cup is more important than the drink for me

I love a decent builders brew!! Yorkshire gold & a spot of milk!

I’ll drink a coffee and am not at all fussy but hot chocolate is not something I’d chuck down the sink.

Hot oat milk with maple syrup, rum and a sprinkle of spice.

Homemade Chinese-spiced plum syrup with hot water.

I was there last month and whilst their bar is exquisite, I didn't find anything resembling this from the menu. I think Sir Joshua Reynolds would have approved though.

Actually my downfall as meant to be caffeine free.

But pumpkin spice lattes are the ambrosia to my soul and ever ageing body.

I love rooibos. And mulled wine but with actual cinnamon sticks used to make it. Spanish hot chocolate is heavenly. A sign I'm having a tough week is when I make one. Then add squirty cream and liberal cinnamon on top. You already know this though ex-husband.
