Have bought fleecy blankets instead.

To misquote Scrooge: "Once purchased, they may be used indefinitely for the purpose for which they are intended. Central heating burns - it is momentary and is costly".

I put it on for a couple of days last week while it was cold and raining but turned it off again now the sun is out.

I refuse to 'hold out'. As soon as I'm chilly, it goes on. It comes from growing up with only a coal fireplace in the living room and getting dressed as quickly as possible in front of a gas bottle heater.

I'm an adult now and damn it I WILL be warm.

Been on for weeks now

Still not got it on fully yet

Thremst set at 30

Pump speed is set at 1 will go to 2 as it gets colder

Boiler timeing set at 2 will go to 4 as it get colder

Lot off people don’t know how to work they heating properly

And think just because the thermostat is set to a temperature that’s it

Whare other factors fit in to it

Ie pump speed

How fast the system moves the water around and back to boiler can contrabue a factor off how hot or cold and cost ie to slow and it cost more to heat back up

Boiler timer is basically how much you boiler will allow it to cool before re heating to low and it will cost more as your letting the temperature drop and then need to rise again

Change the timing means it instead off dropping to 20c and then heating back to 30 it will drop to 27c and heat back from there effectively costing less

I live in an almost 250 year old cottage and the insulation is dire.

The log burner has been on most evenings when I'm at home for the last couple of weeks and I have a portable gas heater that I turn on should I need instant heat.

I haven't switched the central heating on yet, I'm hoping I don't have to until November
