Definitely family, my closest friends I look upon as an extension of family so they are both and the same to me.

Is blood thicker than water?

Have you tried drinking it???

Our own kids are everything to us, the rest of the family can do one.

Friends, some are closer than family.

I choose my friends and life partners, however I did not choose my family.

I always lived by the code but a lot of my family are still heavily involved in the life it took me so long to leave, so now I don't live by it so much

Far far far from it...my Dad is technically my Step Dad, but him and his daughters I would class as family before my 'Real' Dad and all the aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins...oh and half sister and half brothers I've never met. Also, my Best Friends are a part of the people I choose to call family. Family to me is nothing to do with blood, but about knowing who'll be there for me when I need them (and who I'd be there for too) x

"Do you feel a closer bond to your family or your friends?"

Blood clots, water runs and family weather you like it or not stick around longer the majority of the time. When you think about it it can be quite depressing.

In my experience yes, most definitely blood is thicker than water. I have some lovely and dear friends, however my family have been by my side no matter what (whether I wanted it or not) and I feel that without them I wouldnt be where I am today, and I'm in a pretty good place right now
