It's the silly non-smile policy.

Alice is a MASSIVE smiler. So, they always have to take multiple glimpses at her passport, because the dead-pan photo looks nothing like the smiley person in front of them.

I get told to smile more I look to serious also sometimes I look simple depending on the angle I look at the camera.

I think that about every selfie I take.

It's probably because the smile is forced, not quite sincere, and the little disconnect between the eyes looking for the damn lense aperture and the mouth holding that stupid teethy grin belies the truth.

It isn't real.

Who else feigns such emotions, serial killers. Obviously. And estate agents. Not sure which is worse.
