Just found out on Facebook that a friend of mine who I had known for over 10 years sadly died this morning. The tragic news was posted by her partner an hour ago. I feel shocked, numb and saddened by what happened. We used to date when we first met years ago and kept in touch on Facebook ever since.

My thoughts and and prayers go to her family, her partner and their daughter. I'll miss the good chats and laughs we used to have

Sad times, I'd go spend time with those that knew them as you did if at all possible.

Very sad news. We recently lost a friend and colleague very suddenly and unexpectedly while they were away on holiday.

Take time to remember them and reach out to people if you feel the need.

Funerals in Ireland involve the whole community, friends work colleagues not just the family. It helps everyone the family can draw on the support and strength of others around them . The person lies in repose in a Funeral home as it is called and sometimes hundreds of people come and offer their condolences to the family. The family get a chance to meet friends old school friends of the decised it'd really nice

Sorry to hear what happened to your friend and colleague. My friend and her family had only just come back from their holiday and I remember a post saying she wasn't feeling well and felt dizzy. The last time I spoke to her on Facebook was a day before my birthday and I also went on holiday a few days later.

It's awful isn't it? And such a shock. September was an absolute shocker for me, 3 people passing unexpectedly.

I'm trying to find the joy in the little things every day, it's really helping

I hope you get to celebrate their life x

Just got back from having a walk and it helped me feel better from the shock and the numbness I felt from hearing the sad news this morning.

I'll never forget the good and fun chats I had with my friend Louise. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

As much as I have felt better since I found out what happened, I still feel a little sad at the fact she's gone. The thing is, I've never had a friend who died before.

Yesterday, I ended up in tears after listening to a score from a movie as it made me picture her standing outside when I look out my window giving me a smile before ascending into the sky. The music is still my head now.

Even though we've only kept in touch on Facebook now and again, I still can't believe she is actually gone.

Over the past few days, I couldn't help but dwell on thoughts of what my friend must be going through after she died. Is she scared? Is she sad that she'll never be there to watch her baby daughter grow up? Is she comforted by relatives who passed on long before her knowing her family will be ok and well looked after? I guess I'll never know.

I think I should take comfort in knowing she didn't suffer when she died and has gone to a better place.
