Some fans of Greggs Sausage Rolls are outraged by the latest price rise but enough of that. Have they got smaller?

It's not the size, it's how you use it

They were 25p when I was a kid. I think the outrage should have started about 20 years ago.

It’s the quality of the sausage that is more important than the size.

Greggs is a palace of wonder and mystery to me.......

It's a mystery how the hot sausage rolls are always cold and I always wonder how they get away with it .......

Isn't it about the fact that they would have to put VAT on hot food but no Vat if it's cooling down out of the oven

"Greggs is a palace of wonder and mystery to me.......

They are cold because they are not kept in a heated cabinet.

and the reason they are not kept in a heated cabinet is because if they were, they would be sold as a hot food item and therefore subject to VAT making them 20% more expensive.

Greggs are using this loophole of trying to cook them so many at a time so they are still hot from the cooking process so not subject to VAT.

Hope this helps solve your mystery and puts your mind at rest
