actually i did meet a guy without having seen him before about 2 month ago .. had been chatting to him for ova a year and happened to be up newcastle so text him to meet up .. it wasnt till i was in the pub waiting to meet him till the penny dropped that i didnt actually know wot he looked like .. doh !!

he was however a delight so disaster averted !!

I always ensure I see them on cam or various pics to ensure they are genuine.

I've heard stories of guys doing this and then turning up to the meeting point and the lovely lady they expected turned out to a big hairy biker

Hmmm is personality enough to prompt a meet should be the real question.

I wouldn't not meet due to lack of picture however I would only meet socially with a definite no to more than that.

I think, as others have stated before me, that you get to know a person on here through several layers. The forums, the verifications, their profile and mostly their emails and pms. I just like to take my time and I am friends with quite a few I probably wont ever meet.

I am usually a very quick decision maker as I said on anther thread but in the context of meeting people off this site or teh scene in general it does not work like that for me. I dont have a lot of time for socialising and I guess it is about not having that luxury that makes me be a bit careful.

when i first started meeting i did and it was Sreck over 20 stones and green teeth and smelling like had not been in bath for months. lol

I leaned my lesson never meet with out seeing a up= to date pic first. I know would not help with smell .

But in general chatting on a web cam gives you a good idea of what people are like..

I did once meet a guy I'd been chatting to for a long time and was attracted to his personality!! He and joked and assured me I wouldn't me disappointed and I certainly wasn't he was bloody gorgeous but that was a complete one off!!
