Anyone else get the most fucked up, vividly realistic dreams on this medication?

I'm only on 10mg at night for nerve damage, but my dreams have been so crazy ever since I started this. Trying to figure out if it's just me

Sometimes it's a good sex dream, but I just had a dream I was in a car crash and it felt so real. I freaked out on waking as I had a piece of plastic stuck to my hand and thought it was a plaster cause my hands had been covered in cuts in the dream

I have never had the medication however I would love to try anything which would make my already extremely vivid dreams, even more so. I wish you more sexy dreams and less nightmares!

Def not just you OP. I know several people who take it and have weird dreams also.

I take codeine occasionally for arthritic knee pain and that also causes strange & vivid dreams

I was trialled on one or two different things years back for sleep aids due to chronic pain and had to stop as was just constantly feeling trippy.

Not good

I had them for nerve damage and stopped taking them almost immediately. The nightmares were awful.

Glad to hear I'm not alone, although not glad you have all been freaked out by the dreams too.

I'm a bit weird in that I don't mind a nightmare, probably the only excitement I get these days but I might speak to my GP about something else cause the dreams tend to wake me up during the night which isn't ideal.

Hi believe it is a tricyclic drug used for pain relief and also in depression...

It is a low dose as having googled can be 200 mg that and above that to as much as 300 mg plus

However if you want to chat over it then feel free to message me

There is another tricyclic drug called imipramine

Less sedating....

So hopefully less bad dreams with that one

Just not sure why a specialist would use such old drugs with newer ones that have been tested that are on the market

All have side effects to get used to ....

But 10mg is not much

Did u suffer with a dry mouth at the beginning

If u want to chat then feel free to message the other way

I would never pester u

Just chat over the topic you raise

My dream realm is super strong . Is so real I’d like a second life . Can be so intense I wake up tired of being in there .

I take no medications . I love the dream world

Sometimes goes deeply dark n extremely scary

But I learned how to deal with it , jumping dimensions

And I reached my self a self wakening technic when the situation is so bad u have no way out

So to avoid extremelly deadly pains of agony I wake myself up is very easy :

Just think : “wait a minute , I know where I am ,”

Then u think u want to pull u self out and wake up n u do . Is harder if u very tired …

How

To recognise u on the dream realm n not here ?

Is easy , there are signs aorund . Things that don’t make sense , zombies don’t exist or walking skeletons or little

Thing that u see something is wrong about the matrix …

Then instead of dream take control of you u take control of the dream u can learn super powers . Teleport , shoring fire from your hands

Learn how control how to fly was amazing .

Then learn how

Teleport cause fly is to slow was super

Amazing . Levitate others like

The Jedi in Star Wars . U name it .

Like Neo on Matrix ….

I found sex dreams very hard to control as your excitement is very high . Wich May wake u up ,

If u learn how to realise where u are n try to control the exctasy u can handle it longer

I enjoyed full orgasm on the dream world and clean it off after

Usually they wake u up as soon as it kicks

Anything over ratted consult your GP

Is the excitement and heart beat I think that wakes u up x is the wrong emotions

Love , fear , pain , anything strong , orgasm

I had issues very bad with nightmares constantly

I felt worried was very bad then I read about chronic nightmare and I research that drinking a lot can cause chronic nightmare

And I was drinking a lot . Like . A lot . 7 years ago

I think this is why I don't mind nightmares, I have always been a lover of the dream world too. I even like those ones just before you reach proper REM sleep where you're falling and jerk awake. I know, I'm odd.

I've spent some time in the past meditating for lucid dreaming and astral projection. Had many dreams of flying around places from the real world when I was younger which I'm adamant were astral projection and I'm into all that dream interpretation stuff. Maybe I'm getting a bit too woo on this thread now?

You people are my sort of people. I can talk about dreams all day long. I have dream worlds, recurring dreams, dreams which start off where they last ended. I have dreams which have continued since I first had them at the age of 5 or 6 years old.

It’s not too woo at all! Some people never remember their dreams, some of us are lucky that we get to live multiple experiences in our dreams!

One summer I practiced meditating for lucid dreams. I think I spent the whole summer asleep, but it was worth it!

I have never experienced the feeling of astral projection and not sure if I believe in pushing ourselves out of our body etc, then again maybe I need to read up more on it.

I don’t take this medication so can’t comment on that, but I do love a dream thread. I tend to have a lot of deja vu dreams where something happens in a dream and then the same thing happens in real life. Nothing major, just things like a snippet of a conversation or something and it makes you pause.

I used to sleep walk as a child so I’ve always been a live wire during the sleeping hours

If the dreams start to bother you or you get concerns then speak to your Dr.

Too lazy to Google. Is that a triptan for migraines? Last time I had one I stumbled up the road to the pharmacy, hood up and sunglasses on trying to block the light out from the lump of white hot magma that was my head, unsurprisingly they wouldn't give me ANY painkillers. Cahunts.

I'm on prescribed amphets (PRESCRIBED, mods) and they give me some weird ass dreams sometimes.

Can’t take that drug as it causes panic attacks with me, didn’t have any weird dreams while I was “experimenting” with it though

Amitriptyline is an anti-depressant, but used in lower doses (lower than 40mg) it’s a painkiller for nerve damage, it can also be used as a preventative treatment for migraines. It’s not a Triptan

My brain is to strong for me . To kaotic and to hyper to meditate … I tried many times , I can’t do it …

I done a few astral projections tho …

Wich I can’t define if I was awake or dreaming .

Was drinking and taking party crystals .

In 2015 ,

And I brought ( teleport ) with me characters from a dream realm or dimensions into our living world .

They were standing in my room , I was fully awake , I got up to eat n drink , ( is my technic to clam down n sleep again )

Cause it was getting a bit much

One was made of white glowing light . Like aliens in a movie I saw .

The other was made of black smoke with a dog head , like Seth .

They were trying to give a message . With gestures moving they arms .

But I couldn’t read it . They faded ghosted away . I Stil remember the moves and the message .

I found it peculiar , cause usually they attack me

This one’s where trying to tell me something

I think . Maybe they were just dancing a very strange kind of “ las ketchup “

This was over a overdose of beer , 3 days bender or something …

Was well mad . Just another story that I can’t tell if I managed to see things

Or my brain is even more creative then me .

I did loved it tho …

I do like this subject as well .

I got myself

Reading Sandman comics , but then I got tired of it . Cause the English is quite rich and I was getting bored of pic the dictionary every 2 words . So I got bored of that …

But was loving the Novel ^^

Cool , is like a second life isn’t it ?

I never believe in astral projection .

But I have been in some.

Is like a dream .

U know when u park the car and walk away .

And your car is the car park u just know is there ?

Is like that . U just know your body is there n u here … floating like a ghost …

I had a funny one .

I blackout out in a tower , my girlfriend was with me

I flew right out of the window , straight into the bar on beach dance floor about 50 to 60 meters away , I saw one of my best friends walking in the crowd , he looked back …

Then when we met again , he said he looked back , he was pretty sure I was behind him

That was funny ^^

The other one was just quickly project out of bedroom window over the back garden for few seconds and straight back in

Then I think there’s another one similar I don’t remember well ^^

Pick dreams from where it was

I like that ^^ cool .

Not sure if I had that . But I been back to the same stories few times .

Oh yeah dejavus. That’s another one …

Ha ha . I find it funny . Like something is wrong with the Matrix .

I did got scared of my level of nightmares at some point .

I asked google . Researched about chronic nightmare . And In my case it matched with alcohol abuse . Never alcoholic but drinking beer like a river drinks water .

So I cutted down on the horses and it gone away .

I'm not really seeking medical advice it works perfectly well for what it's prescribed for, just curious about other people's dreams. If it was causing a serious issue then I wouldn't hesitate in speaking to my GP.

I was prescribed amitriptyline when I fucked up my back really badly years ago. They increased the dosage quite a bit but did nothing for me so the switched me to gabapentin (which worked like a dream)

I can't remember having bad dream's, but I do remember it gave me the worst dry mouth. Was bloody terrible

Glad it’s not just me! I was also on 10mg per night to help with nerve pain, but all it did was make me feel out of my face and have trippy mental dreams lol. Had to stop taking it in the end
