"Solar powered lights.

Solar lights not so good in winter, often not enough sunlight to charge them up (maybe different down South where you are). Definitely not inside the house.

Candles and lots of fluffy blankets

If. The pertinent word is if, not when.

Look beyond the headlines and you'll see the contingency planning is that industrial sites 'may' have blackouts to protect domestic properties.

So to answer your question, if there is no light or heat in my workplace I'll go home.

Or the other way of looking at it, you will pay a lot less if you use your power outside of peak hours.

If the hours they are saying are right, it’s not much to plan for 3 hours of outage.

So evening meal already in the slow cooker ready to eat, dinner by candlelight, then board games or cards for entertainment. As for staying warm, flip the heating on an hour before outage, that will keep the flat warm for 3 hours, add a blanket if needed.

Like normal times really, except dinner by candlelight
