Taking a risk, do you?

Well do you?

I’m watching the clouds, and thinking I’ll leave the laundry on the outdoor airer for another hour. But rain is forecast and I can’t be arse to sit and watch the clouds for that long. Risking it for a biscuit. That how I roll. Livin’ on the edge.

I take risks all the time! Like moving to London before finding somewhere permanent to live and just winging it when I get there. I’m really not risk averse, life’s too short!

Better to ask forgiveness than permission etc. Life's too short, say yes more. Live a little, the frisson of getting a risk right, even a little one (Can I get to the shop to buy milk before my fish fingers burn in the air fryer!?) feels great when you win

Exactly what I did when I moved down to London, no job, no permanent home and a much younger girlfriend I'd met 3 months earlier.

Best thing I ever did!

That’s an edgy one. Did you make it? Were the fishy treats edible? C’mon man don’t keep me in suspenders.

Do you test the integrity of the biscuit first, to find any potential weak spots?

No. That spoils the element of surprise when it drops to the bottom of the mug if I don't remove it in time.

No, not in big ways, although I dream big dreams that I know are possible but aren't likely

I'm the one at the base of the stack keeping everyone steady. Can't be taking risks that don't only affect myself.

I suppose being on fab is a risk should anyone decide to blow up my life for the craic

But I'm single, an adult and careful what pics I post so not too much damage to be done there.

On the plus side.......

Built in airbags for a soft landing instead of your face being the first to hit the ground and you getting a broken nose.

I’m taking a risk with a new career at my age. Done the risk taking with my life, rock climbing, bungee jumping or riding fast motorbikes.

But actually risking going into a new role (something I’ve done several times) is still the most exciting and trepidatious thing I really do in my life.

Let's face it, everyone, on fab is a little, risque...or is that risky....or both...

Personally, I'm risk-averse...had too much trauma in my life to just wing it.

Even with my best planning, Things still go awry but I still land on my feet somehow.

Last risky thing I did: a social meet which got cancelled so I went out on my own.

Last risk-adverse thing I did: backed out of an 8 hour flight to the tropics after throwing up in the Uber to Heathrow. Visions of me having a crisis event 4 hours away from Land 30 000 feet in the air put me off and I decided not to risk it.

Can't see your age but my Mom's went back to college at 47. We would get up in the middle of the night and study together. Her: extra nursing. Me: CXCs- Caribbean GCSEs. She failed the first term (which my Dad teased her about) but the next term she was on it like Sonic!!

I’m roughly the same age as your Mum. So I congratulate her for her perseverance and hopefully a new successful career.

I suppose when I became middle aged and realised there’s less time ahead of me than behind, it’s not as much of a risk more of an adventure.

I've ridden motorcycles since I was 16, so don't consider that being risky.

I also race them and ride them off road, both of which I do consider risky.

I run my own business, which was a risk when I started and often taking risks financially over the years to do with business etc.

One lesser n I learned very early in business is the power and opportunity of leveraging credit , especially when rates are low. it’s feels scary when you’re skint and maxing out 5 credit cards to £40K to pay contractors and complete a project , but that’s what differentiates you from the 9-5 crowd who would never take that risk and never see the rewards
