Yep.

Just like in Star Trek.

And teleportation would save me hours of driving up and down the M5.

"...where would you go?

And why?"

Oh I daydream about this a lot! I'd go back in time to the period where early-modern homo sapiens were living, in very small tribes, in an unspoiled (but wild!) paradise! Living off the land, hardly ever coming into contact with other tribes (cos there are so few people on the planet), occasionally being chased by sabre-toothed tigers, living entirely without all of the psychological hang-ups which abound in the 21st century. Living as - I believe - our maker intended us to live. Bliss!!!

East Sussex

So many times. Saxon England, medieval England, a time when native Americans or Canadians were the only inhabitants of those areas, I could list many more.

In reality I don't want to live in a time without antibiotics.

Not all that North of North London

I'd like to have been around 10-15 years older and lived through punk rock in the 70s.

Other than that, I'm quite happy in this era

Titz Towers, North Notts

I'd like to pop back to the 5th and 6th centuries with a notebook and record what was occurring, as so much is either unknown, or far more nuanced than what we used to believe. Beyond that, the future would be nice

I would have loved to have been 18-25 around the early 90’s. The music and club (not swingers) scene looked amazing.

I don't think I would change much, I'm not a fan of technology or the way it's moving so I guess I'd go back in time 1980 maybe but with today's music

I’d probably say Roman times. Living as an upper class Roman in Rome.

They seamed to have it all and enjoy life to the full.

I’m sure someone will come along with a small prick and burst my bubble lol

The trouble with going back in time is the lack of decent medical care, war, poverty and inequalities. Yes, I know they all still exist but it was so much worse back then. As for the future, well its the future who knows if the planet will still be there if I jump 500 years forward so all in all I think I will just accept that I have not had a bad life and live this one, I haven't died yet so I must be doing something right.

Lived through the punk era of the 70’s, survived the Disco era of same period too.

Spent my early years in Glasgow during the 60’s but I agree with poster above, the London scene then was probably more fun or the LA scene

Hate to burst your bubble - but at 45 you’d probably be dead in those times. If not you’d be considered incredibly old. I’m guessing mortality in those times would be similar to undeveloped nations now - or developed nations in the 18th century and before - so around 40 years old. I’d definitely be long gone.

I might go for short visits, but I like the conveniences and freedoms of my current life too much to give them up on a permanent basis.

I'm a working class woman. We've not had a particularly jolly time of it in the past!

Absolutely. Posts like this are generally done by men. With very few exceptions women have been subjugated at every time in history - and still are in much of the world.
