All that has been said above. He created a new, and some would say more accessible, jazz. He was there for practically the whole jazz age and you will hear Brubeck pieces used in all sorts of things.

A north American jazz musician - you're probably already acquainted with his stuff unknowingly!

"Take five" has been used in lots of film sound tracks/commercials for example.

Anyway.. sad loss, great musician.
