Quite convincing and entertaining ,and one guy from Shropshire who picked me out and told me a few things that you couldn't google ,

If its a trick , it's a clever one , just go with an open mind.

Oh yes. Had the 'pleasure' of attending a couple.

1st one was the funniest and at a village hall in my teens and me and my mates found the wire the 'psychic' was using as a hidden ear piece to have info slipped to them so we ripped it out mid-show causing the 'spirits' to mysteriously leave us.

Thing is EVERYONE - the scammer, er I mean 'psychic', our parents, our grandparents, the organisers and the audience were all pissed off with us!!!

You can't win some days!

PS - For those not aware they have a small posse of eavesdroppers that circulate before the performance gaining juicy tit-bits of info off chit chatting audiences. Google and social media have become their best friends in more recent times. The 'psychic' also uses triggers to cause a reaction, especially if someone has suffered a recent bereavement.

Yes. I’ve seen a few. A couple I would concise real Mediums and a few phone Psychics.

The last time I went absolutely nailed everything. Names, circumstances. But it’s like everything, I could be still sceptical if I was that type of person, they could be good at guessing..etc.

I worked with a bunch of ladies well into this. Plus a maintenance guy who was a druid at the weekends.

They told convincing stories of predictions. One day it all seemed a bit heavy and that night I dreamt of horrible witches.

I woke and felt a presence. I called out and a huge picture fell from my wall.

I flew out of bed, heart thumping and I switched on the light.

It was a warning. Do met mess with what you dont understand...

I saw Colin Fry and Tony Stockwell once, no message for me and some messages were downright silly like spirit telling some woman that the stench in her cupboard is coming from a pierced Fray Bentos pie really spirit, we go for enlightenment and that is what happens...

One message had me in tears though, it was from a teenage girl who had died in a car crash, she went through the windscreen and suffered a heart attack. She wanted to tell her Dad that she never suffered and she felt his love from the last time he saw her and thanked him for holding her and for what he said to her

He explained that he had been to see her in the Chapel of rest and held her body one last time

I don't know if it was real, guy could of been a plant I guess but what an awful story if it was a plant....

He was behind me on the way out, and said that nobody could of known that he held her as he was in the room alone

I keep an open mind and until someone tells me something specific to me then I will hold my judgement.

I watched a programme years ago that shows you how they do it. I can’t remember the ins and outs but it’s very clever and they make you give away a lot more than you think you actually are.

I don’t see the harm in it though. People find a lot of comfort in seeing them and getting messages from loved ones and that can only be a good thing.

Anyone remember Darren Brown being a psychic and writing down the “fortunes” of a bunch of strangers? They all said how uncanny it was and he’d got them spot on. Thing is he said ABSOLUTELY the same thing to all of them using generic blurb!

Also as someone said above .. these stage psychics use spotters etc to glean info, and prey on people desperate to hear from the dead .. in many ways it’s sick, but if it can help give them closure and comfort it may be a benefit…

What an amazing post, I gasped at the audacity of you and your friends, simultaneously enjoying your rebelliousness and feeling sorry for the psychic! Not surprised at the reaction of your community, you spoiled their show. It's an irony yes (or maybe just the limits of morality) that you'll reach a child to never lie but then be angry at them for exposing lies, ha.

I've seen shows on TV and yes it's very emotional when they start digging at someone who has lost a close one. I understand why people need this, it's in lieu of bereavement counseling, with a dose of community mourning, and some spiritual aspirations. And I understand and why it makes a good spectacle. Funnily traditionally the church/mainstream religion performed this identical service, which explains why they disapprove of psychics and the paranormal!

I have to put my cards firmly on the table on this one.

There isn't any truth in it whatsoever.

Anyone who say's they are keeping an open mind will feel the draft until the day they die. It is possible to be too open minded and let your brain fall out entirely.

I'd go to a psychic for fun and because the 'magic' is skillful ..... but i'd always know that it's a skill and not a gift.

I wouldn't pay to see the ones I consider to be charlatans and money making ghouls.

It’s a form of entertainment. Same as illusionists, where you admire the sleight of hand and wonder how the hell did they did that … but it would take a right dipstick to believe that they actually made their assistant disappear.

It’s trickery. Enjoy the show, but don’t actually believe in it.

A friend and I once went to see Sally Morgan. This was years ago when she first started touring. It was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. We were sat directly in front of the sound and lighting folk. Now at these things the camera goes to the audience when she’s talking to someone. She was talking to someone directly in front of us. The thing had got steadily more ridiculous as the show went on but the guy she was talking to was an animal psychic. That was the final straw we couldn’t hold it together any longer. The only problem was we were visible on the screen. We had to slump down in our seats absolutely hysterical. What made it worse was the crew behind us laughing at us laughing

My mum once got roped in to be a 'fortune teller' at a fête. The number of people who told her afterwards how accurate her predictions were was enough to almost make her believe it herself

PS - For those not aware they have a small posse of eavesdroppers that circulate before the performance gaining juicy tit-bits of info off chit chatting audiences. Google and social media have become their best friends in more recent times. The 'psychic' also uses triggers to cause a reaction, especially if someone has suffered a recent bereavement.

It's an irony yes (or maybe just the limits of morality) that you'll reach a child to never lie but then be angry at them for exposing lies, ha.

I've seen shows on TV and yes it's very emotional when they start digging at someone who has lost a close one. I understand why people need this, it's in lieu of bereavement counseling, with a dose of community mourning, and some spiritual aspirations. And I understand and why it makes a good spectacle. Funnily traditionally the church/mainstream religion performed this identical service, which explains why they disapprove of psychics and the paranormal!"

This is the very thing they feed off. The sheer fact that people WANT it to be true. Hence them all turning on me. They need that closure that a loved one is no longer suffering or whatever. So I can see clearly your comment of you felt sorry for even the psychic I'd exposed, its a bit like finding Santa's not real again.

But since that 1st one I've studied a little bit their techniques and how they subliminally extract information from believing 'victims' and they will use certain techniques and mentalist tricks to gain the trust of the bereaved person. Just for an example one of the simplest tricks they did back when people still had phone books was to find the two most common names from that area. So they'd go "Is there a Shaw in the audience and 20 people stick their hand up... Yes I'm getting Shaw.... a Bill Shaw??? Anyone?" And maybe 3 hands are up, so they pick the one that looks the most gullible. And they dupe the person that the 'spirit' of the late Bill Shaw is in the room. They will gain trust by saying that Bill likes their new red car. Because either they or the stooges will have noted this person arrived in a red car out in the car park. But they chose not to bring the yellow brolly that is on the backseat. Such accuracy draws the victim in and further trust is gained. So when the psychic gets a few facts wrong later on they have money in the "credibility bank" because the widow of Bill Shaw "knows" her late hubby likes her car and brolly. I mean there is NO way a stranger can know all this detail? Right?

Ok, that's a simple one. These are huge money making schemes though so the mining of info is even more vociferous and complex in order to gain that oh so important trust. Cos widow Shaw is gonna give them a £20 tip on the way out... that the taxman never sees... and tell ALL her mates to come to the next one.

Like I say in a way they are sometimes providing a 'service' and a person may leave freed of their grief. But its still a fraud. They're scammers.

She then told me that my mum was with her and gave me a message.
