Okay, you're in Sadbrokes with a rolling screen of the nation's shitest bets. What are the odds of power blackouts this winter? Winner gets a four pack of lukewarm Carling and a family-sized bag of cheesy puffs (that had been squished underneath the cans in the blue plastic bag, obvs).

Gawd knows, but I do know this: the only *real* winners from those bets will be the bookies!

It's pretty sad to think about and it's why you always see them in the more derelict areas of cities. It attracts the desperate in the hope there's more to gain from their low paying jobs and just stars a vicious cycle

1 to 2 I'd say.

As soon as the govt said some months ago it was unlikely but we should be prepared I thought it was a near certainty

Titz Towers, North Notts

The gambling industry has gotten out of control, with too many people falling into trouble. It's not as if it pays that much tax, as so much of the HQs are located in tax havens.

It'd have been just as convincing if they had Corporal Jack Jones running around shouting "don't panic, Capt. Mainwaring!", while waving a spear above his head (from the Sudan campaign, you know?)
