Are there any foods you used to hate but now you love them?

I've been craving raw tomatoes lately and having them in at least one meal every day, which is mad because for over 20 years I have HATED raw tomatoes with a passion. But... I had a banging Caprese salad in a restaurant some months ago and now I can't get enough.

Same goes for bell peppers. I could never stand them raw, but they became one of the only veggies I could eat when I cut out carbs in lockdown so I learned to love them, and by the end was eating them like apples for a snack

There's that thing that says kids have to try a certain food at least 12 times before they start to like it, right? I wonder if one day I'll cure my aversion to beetroot...

"Avocado I love it now, so tasty "

I've never known anyone to like avo on their first try haha. I eat it all the time, but mostly because it's nutritious and fills me up. I'm not convinced I like the taste of actual avocado though, more that I like it with other things

I used to hate really strongly flavoured cheese; there is a simple reason.

As one ages, taste buds decrease markedly in their sensitivity; I now need stronger flavours to get the same kick as when I was in my youth!

I buy a mixture of black and green ones in olive oil, with small chunks of feta (I believe) cheese. Well lush.

Hmmm yes I have heard this. I wonder if any of the other major tastes change too though? For example, I used to find raw tomatoes too sour. Now I find them sweet, meaty and refreshing. Or maybe I'm just buying better tomatoes than my parents did

Anyway, what's your fave cheese?

Bolton

When I was about 6 or 7 my dad was having black pudding with English mustard and asked me if I wanted a taste... It was awful.

Love both now, but I only tried grandma's pig trotters once and swore never again and I've been faithful to that promise. Same thing goes for Tripe

Still, reminds me of one of my favourite song lyrics:
