How do you get through each week?

I’m changing my mindset.

So I do something every Thursday night with pals, so I have that.

So here’s me, I only real need to dread and get through a long add Monday workday and then everything is more positive.

Monday - shit

Thursday - I’m half way through 3 bad days

Wednesday - just one more day to Thursday

Thursday - yay. I’ve got mates round tonight!

Friday - yay it’s weekend after today.

How do you get through your week, do you dread it or is work easy for you?

Weeks just fly by, I try not to wish my life away. We always seem to be busy though and we always try to have something to look forward to

.

Quite happily really. Generally I'm quite high energy and sort of Tigger about excitedly planning life or merrily being me.

If I'm low, I'm very low and the week seems a long one. So I try and do little simple things that aren't too taxing but bring me happiness. Like talking to a friend on the phone. Going for a walk. Things to look forward to and break up the monotony a tad.

I’m trying this. Yet my weekends all look the same for the foreseeable future. Except Nov.

Be more like Meli!

Yes, something therapeutic works whether it's going for a run, giving Grandma a ring or doing the hoovering gives me a little win

At look at no day as different to any other (can easily work 7 days a week though none all full, generally get a good amount of me time!) Though, tbf, I work either from home or at a sports venue and actually love my job!

Always make sure I have plenty of me time and I'll do anything on my own.

I thank god every Monday morning that I stopped working about four years ago and only worked now and again the three years prior to that. That was partly how I got through the week. I also cut down to four days, almost always did something fun on Fridays, tried to have as much friendly interaction as possible while at work and used grim determination the rest of the time.

I also used to fantasise about lamping the people who told me

"Do something you love and you'll never work a day in your life"

Get lost ya' hippy!

I just attack each day head on. I try to achieve something as soon as I wake, whether that’s getting up at the first alarm and making the bed, or going straight to the gym after waking, or getting that first glass of water in.

I don’t really buy into the ‘only xx days to the weekend. It feels like wishing time away.

I just look forward to the weekend and look forward to future plans. I work term time so know when all my holidays will be and off every weekend so I see them as mini goals sometimes if I struggle with the day to day working weekday life.

Little goals and things to look forward too sounds a nice way to do it.

Well I always have at least one thing to look forward to each week ...and some other things I've found really helpful, particularly in difficult times are: self compassion- show yourself some kindness especially in how you think and words you use. Try and stop using negative words about yourself. Do something nice for yourself each day, no matter how small. Eg spray some of your favourite perfume. Find inspiration from a book, song, podcast. Something or someone to uplift you...

Monday used to be my favourite day of the week

I had a whole five days to deliver my package of work and it was six days away from the inevitable Saturday morning call from Toulouse looking for the parts we had failed that week on. Friday lunchtime was my mosted hated hour as every one knobbed off home leaving me with whatever straggler parts were outstanding and every dept closed but still having to get them out the door and down to the south of France.
