Blokes - apologies if you've clicked on here expecting something racy

I have a question for you ladies of a certain age, for those of us who have to wear black knickers permanently because darling mother nature can't make her "bloody" mind up!!!

How do you feel about arranging meets, when you can't be sure whether there'll be a last minute unwelcome visitor in your pants?

I'm lucky to have very light visits & a man who doesn't worry too much, but we're trying to arrange more meets & of course don't want to horrify anyone with the unexpected.

And it's not exactly something you want to announce for every potential meet

If I was reliant on timing when my period rocks up I'd never do anything

Mine has skipped about for years, possibly due to none hormone contraceptive, possibly just me If it happens, it happens. I'd presume anyone I arrange to meet is grownup enough to not be weird about it if it turns up unexpectedly

That's kind of our attitude tbh, but this is new to us, so I couldn't help wondering what the "norm" was!!

.

Mines arrive when it feels like it for many years, I arrange meets, if it turns up on the day of the meet, I message and update on the situation, meet goes ahead if they are ok, if it's not good for them we change plans

If a meets arranged mid flow would I would re-arrange as that's not good for anyone

WTF Kitty!!! You know most people talk about favourite positions or fantasies etc. But no not you, period’s and ladies cycle’s is your topic. Does everyone see what I have to put up with now? Our pillow talk is the price of sanitary towels and the most absorbent.

Good question though Kitty needed to be said

Mine are all over the place, if I waited for it I’d never meet, as said previously if it happens nothing I can do about it and depends on who I’m meeting if if goes ahead, I’ve brought some beppy sponges which were suggested on previous threads and will give them ago when it happens again.

Most men don't seem to care about banging on your period anyway, I think I've slept with just as much men on my period than off.

Be careful of the beppy tampons, I got one wedged in me and had to have it removed by the nurse!! It was quite amusing but not something I wish to repeat so I through them in the bin.

Mines been all over the place and pretty much constant since getting covid earlier this year (although light). I got put on the mini pill to try to counteract it which has made it super light in the evenings but hasn’t stopped them entirely tagged end of my tether tbh!

I have a friend who had heavy bleeding on a daily basis for years. She did get proper treatment in the end, but it took sooo many repeat GP vists to get there I unfortunately think there's still a lot of 'meh, women's problems, just get on with it' type of fobbing off still going on these days

I might be out of line here, but I tend to think that guys know what goes on with a woman’s body during menstruation even if they cannot possibly understand how it makes a woman feel.

If a guy is not sensitive enough to realise that a woman may feel unable or uncomfortable sharing intimate time with a guy while she is on her period, then I would say it is the guy who has the problem, not the lady.

It is all a part of life’s cycle and it surely must be considered a beautiful part… ok even if it can be messy.

I'm very lucky with both my man & my periods, but not all men are as enlightened unfortunately

You have an admirable attitude, one that more should share xx

Thanks everyone

It's nice to see so many enlightened peeps, and that I'm not the only one who is at least thinking about it!!

Just as well seeing as I've never been so horny in my life as I have the last few years

Another cruel trick of Mother Nature

What are you on about? Nobodies questioning whether a man is 'sensitive' or not. That isnt the subject matter.

And as for it being beautiful, come on. Nobody is looking for a white knight here ok.

Thankfully mine are as regular as clock work and have been since I lost a bit of weight.

When I was bigger they would come and go as they wanted.

But now judging by my cramps I can pinpoint mine down to the hour

I think most guys understand that periods can make a woman feel rubbish tbh.

It's defo something that women have been dealing with for hundreds of years so nothing new to men or women

And as for beautiful? Lol no.

Not sure why that's addressed at ladies of a certain age . Those of us who haven't gone through menopause or have medical issues/take medication get our period...

Thankfully I'm quite regular and know when to expect my period - for the time being anyway.

If I'm meeting anyone, I'd discuss preference. It's a natural occurrence. If I know someone well, then I'm comfortable as long as I know they are.

On a sidenote, if you use the quote and reply button, people will know who you're responding to

Before mine stopped altogether sex could cause me to bleed at any time of the month.

I told anyone asking to meet me that there may be a little smidge of blood.

That was after a hysterectomy too.

Erm, also 'beautiful' no

My child bearing days have long since past! I just need the periods to catch on to that fact but I'm fairly sure mood swings, hot flushes, and vaginal dryness await my future instead...

Thanks for that handy hint!!

And I know lots of women have the same problem, I'm just looking at it from my perspective.

I've usually got 3 weeks where I'm good to go, it's the upcoming week that can be a little bit unpredictable.

I will just tell someone that I'm due on, I don't think we should shy away from talking to men about it. So few actually understand what we go through.
