Over the rainbow, under the bridge

Of all things!! Here I am waiting for a chimney sweep. Of all the different kinds of workmen I thought I'd need for this house refurb, a chimney sweep never crossed my mind!!

LOL didn't even think of that. How dim am I? Doubt I'll be in the house by Christmas though. Too much to do in a short space of time.

It's all done now! And yes, he had a sooty face when he arrived. Yes, he did have one of those typical round brushes! LOL

Mind you he also had a hoover and a plastic bag for all the soot!

There's nothing more frustrating than a blocked flue!

Ironically I don't really need the flue as I am having a bioethanol fire, but the soot would have messed up the plastering I need doing in the hearth.

You never know who might turn up......

Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey

Chim chim cher-ee!

A sweep is as lucky, as lucky can be

Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey

Chim chim cher-oo!

Good luck will rub off when I shakes 'ands with you

Or blow me a kiss and that's lucky too

He offered to shake my hand. But he was filthy and I was in my work gear so I declined but thanked him.

Nice guy, did the job quickly too, and the flue is clean as a whistle.

I would have advised solar panels, but you live in Manchester

They can devalue your house anyway - apparently.

Brighton - even Hove!

There are lots of solar panels on houses down here and they look dreadful. I suppose they do the job though. One day all tiles will be solar powered then that would look better. Did the chimney sweep give your hearth a good cleaning too?
