Reckless scientists are smearing coral reefs with antibiotic paste in effort to stop their decline from virus and bacteria... It will obviously get in the food chain. What could possibly go wrong. The only laws of science that these muppets do not understand is the law of unintended consequences ...

When will people learn basic science? Antibiotics fight bacteria, not viruses. That's what anti viruses and vaccines are supposed to do.

indiscriminate use of antibiotics is dangerous as it leads to antibiotic resistance which can then work its way up the food chain so human & animal Disease is more difficult to treat

I can’t tell if this is seriously or not but …

If coral reefs around the world die the entire eco system of our oceans will essentially fail. Without the coral reefs (the Nurseries of the sea) food chains breakdown, nutrient distribution is disrupted and a “safe haven” for juvenile fish will be removed.

If it's controlled research, then any impacts are predicted and measured. If a rarely used, last ditch antibiotic, was being spread around, it would possibly be much higher risk. We must reduce our antibiotics proliferation but it's probably much more likely an issue, with unrestrained, unnecessary use within farmed animals, as well as on people.

It's certainly right that we must minimise our impacts on the natural world, as well as to limit the degradation of our remaining antibiotics' effectiveness.

On the other hand, not just humans and our animal crops, should be afforded the benefits of medicine. Corals are hugely important to the world. We do need to protect them, especially as we've caused so much harm to them
