For you to be truly happy and if you are truly happy what did it take?

I'm about 95% truly happy, I'm living my happy life but haven't travelled for a while since covid, war etc. So once I'm back on the road I'll be 99.999999% happy.

I don't think there ever is such as state as "true happiness", because the term is highly subjective to the individual concerned. Not only that, it's transient and ultimately only temporarily, like everything else.

Perhaps a more apt word might be "content".

Can we ever be "content" ? Yes, for moments in time. Just like happiness. For moments in time at least.

And again, the word "content" doesn't seem to fill the all-encompassing virtual nirvana you seem to be intimating.

I don't feel any word would meet that criteria, because it's a state that does not exist in perpetuity.

I think the key to "true happiness" is to ignore such concepts and unattainable transient desires, and just be.

I am happy because I am.

I know I am not perfect, and my happiness is transitory, and there's a million and one things going on in the world of which some make me unhappy. Those are transient too.

But ignoring that, I am happy.

Because I am.

And when I no longer am, I will not be unhappy, because I will not be.
