"Is a super wobbly tummy or a flat ass enough to put you off someone? Do you consider if catfishing if the "bad bit" isn't really obvious in photos? I guess I am asking how fussy you are about other people's bodies. If you're thinking you want to get jiggy with them. " I'm not too fussed as I understand people have jiggly bits. Imperfection is part of being human.

"I think we all try to show ourselves off in the best light. So long as its a fair representation though then it is what it is. Certainly not dishonest. I've found that before any meets though, we all kind of confess any insecurities or hang ups anyway so, its all good. " I've only ever had one guy confess his insecurity to me. Physical that is. But what's a fair representation, I wonder? I remember one guy I met had a photo of his penis and it was VERY girthy. It was 3 inches long though. Sometimes I wonder if me not sharing ALL the bad bits of my body is dishonest. (Obvs I don't share any atm)

"I'm not into body shaming or being judgemental, but I do have my preferences, which are within a range rather than being very restrictive. At the same time, there are other qualities that I would look for and there would be deal breakers without them regardless of other preferences. Personality and character will enable my preferences to be more flexible." That is wonderfully diplomatic . A lot of people here are ALL about the looks which begged my question really.

I guess that's what I mean about fair representation. It did cross my mind though haha. It's not dishonest, you're just showing off what you are happy/comfortable or confident with. We all do it.

"I think everyone wants to share their best bits. I worry about my own body and how it’s portrayed way more than anyone else’s, so I get you. Meeting someone I confess all the things I dislike, send shit pictures in an act of self sabotage - worry they’ll be disappointed. I know I’m not alone in doing that. Thing is I chat and like to build a connection with someone first. What they look like almost becomes irrelevant if we have that. But I know not everyone feels that way Px" I feel that way and yes, I know most people here don't think that - looks are a huge part of attraction for most people.

"I personally like seeing the body as a whole, if I was to meet someone. I don't particularly like having to piece a person together like a jig saw. Plus if they're hiding something completely, it does make me wonder if they would be completely confident naked with me. And that for me is a bit off putting. " I don't feel completely confident naked ever. Can't remember feeling like that even when I was slimmer. People like confidence so I'm not sure what the solution is?

Wearing a push up bra that makes your chest look huge when it’s in reality it’s tiny would be catfishing but only if you didn’t have other pics where you weren’t wearing a push up: Angling the camera to give yourself a flat stomach when really you have a beer belly is catfishing though!

I don't think anyone suggested that flattering angles would change them from ample to slim though?

"So it's a wonderbra catfishing? I definitely only use more flattering angles. I think it's obvious from my pictures I'm not slim and so far have never had a poor reaction from a first meeting. I don't believe I need to show pictures of every wobble or scar. I'm a 54 year old woman, I don't have anywhere near a perfect body or face. We all hide aspects of ourselves both physical and mental. "I wouldn't say I'm put off easily. I'm quite fond of the bits that society doesn't like. I do have certain types of men that I love the look of that I am more drawn to. But if I like you then your beer belly or small dick won't make me not fancy you just because they aren't what is deemed acceptable by the world. I'm more put off by personality than anything else. Would I say it is catfishing? I guess if you go out of your way to hide parts of yourself and lie about it then yes. But if you're just showing your body with clothes nobody could ever guess how it would look naked. And I don't mind flattering angles either. I think as long as you can put that photo by your side and still be able to recognise that it is you then you're not decieivng anyone. " Love this

"Is a super wobbly tummy or a flat ass enough to put you off someone? Do you consider if catfishing if the "bad bit" isn't really obvious in photos? I guess I am asking how fussy you are about other people's bodies. If you're thinking you want to get jiggy with them. " I think I want a true representation of the person I am going to meet. I have found some people on here have photos from back in 2018 and that's fine if they haven't changed but if they have put a lot of weight on and look like a totally different person then I would consider that catfishing. I also chatted to a guy who had a picture of a bodybuilder on his profile and was not him. That is deceitful and therefore classed as catfishing. I share photos that are a true representation of me and my body and always make sure the guy knows I am an ample woman. Most guys seem to like it even the ones with the six packs and muscles that I am attracted to.

"I would say that in that moment of meeting, regardless of having seen photos of said person in advance, and possibly vice versa, those superficial digital representations of ourselves fade away in the real flesh, and 2 choices emerge. 1. Compare the flesh to the photo. 2. Ignore the photo, and ask if you may look in to their soul and at the person there. What saddens me is that so many beautiful men and women feel ugly inside, until someone else can show them their true beauty within. "This is so opposed to the Fab ethos I can't decide if you're joking or not? " I'm not. Nor do I feel beholden to subscribe to such an ethos, even if it truly existed. Photos are a double-edged sword. I know of a woman many years ago who was desperately unhappy with her "dating photos" on another website, and yet she chose to use them anyway. Why ? Because they were a true reflection of her outward appearance and captured an element of her personality, which was playful and fun. Why was she unhappy with the photos ? Because none of the contacts she made could get past the photos to the real her ? What was stopping them ? Simple. Their eyes. Why ? This woman was a supermodel. The irony being, she was trapped inside herself by her own photos and natural good looks (if such a thing exists). Potential suitors could not get past those images, and were immediately backfooted and incredulous. Ultimately it reframed every contact that was made with her in a negative way, sadly.

In fact if I had the balls - there are people here who I find attractive from engaging with them which is a more natural order for me. But I can’t bring myself to message them. On the “main” drag. And you're made to feel sensitive, picky or vanilla because most people here don't align with your mindset. It can be really tough sometimes when everyone around you is telling you you're wrong to just hang onto what you believe to be right for you.

The thought of a dress down club terrified me honestly but a group of friends convinced us to give it a try. Total game changer! The people were so nice, and the women are so complimentary to each other that it's hard to feel self conscious for long. I honestly feel more sexy now than I did when I was 20! I think you are probably over thinking when it comes to your perceived imperfections. I personally am far more interested in how we click with people and how much fun they are to be around. The only time I'd have an issue is if someone sent us a very out of date face pic, what's the point in sending photos if the person you are supposed to meet can't recognise you when you walk into the room K x
