So I thought I'd ask the people of fab what is it you use what do you prefer and have you actually tried the alternative?

Android. Its what I'm used to and most comfortable using. In work I've had to use an iPhone and an iPad and I find them a bit awkward

I am not very good with technology so when I got my first smartphone about 8 years ago I asked my sister what is easier to use and she said IPhone so that’s what I got. I have never used a Android so I can’t really compare the two

Owned both. Used both. Would never go back to an iPhone.

The sheer fact the company admitted deliberately fucking with older models to increase sales is enough to lose my business for life.

Tried an android once , couldn’t believe how bad it was. Steve jobs was an absolute master of UX - not just the tech and UI either , I read how he designed the suction feel and sound of opening a new iPhone box

It has to be a pleasurable experience as they break so easy you buy that many.

iPhone

Hands down best

Please tell me why a phone should have 16 cores

16gb off ram and still score like a badly

Video rendering 5+ minutes

Same video on iPhone rendering 2 minutes

There is no comparison at this point

It’s close to as bad as intel vs amd back in the fx era

I’ve used an operating system for every letter of the alphabet, and I can quite happily state who gives a flying shit, if it does what you want, it’s the bet phone for you. Weird thing about phone fanatics is how they will spent more time telling you why the ones they don’t use are shit rather than why the one they do is good…

Not really when you paying 1k plus and it gets out performed by a 4 year old iPhone

And I am talking raw power none off this fancy keep apps open in the background to make or phones seem fast

Video rendering is the true test off power and it’s bad when a 2022 android is beat by a phone x that’s 4 years old

E.K . Glasgow

Use Iphone and Android tablets both are good at what they do . Lots of folk used to get Samsung for Android though now there's more choice for varying budgets . No option for iOS its apple or nowt . Limit of updates on Android is only drawback as it's 3 years from start of the sale of new models .

I have an Android personal, and iphone business.

Honestly they are both good but I prefer android. I don't really like the navigation on iphone and the menus are a bit more messy but it's really smooth and fast, and it looks great.

Android is a skin off Linux it’s the hardware not the software they mile’s behind and use fancy tricks by keeping apps always running to make it seem fast

But when you put true power to the test ie video rendering it shows how bad they are

My 22 year old Lotus is faster than any other car in my street, but they are not shit cars, they’re right for the owners (and most are worth more). If someone is happy with an android, cool, it’s good for them, their phone is theirs, not yours.

I don't have an issue with either. I'd pick Android if I had only one choice.

I can't believe there are people who actually slate others for the phones they have. I thought we were all supposed to be sensible adults.

iPhone, purely for the security alone.

Android, whilst good, has a major problem with its App Store being open to allowing malicious apps on it, something Apple has gotten really good at preventing.

*that’s not to say iPhones are risk free, they’re still easy to break into.

Pretty much the same here. I just find Android OS clunky and it seems to take more prods to get the same things to happen as one prob in IOS.

Like most tech though, theres pro's and cons of each

S20 Ultra. 3 years old now and still doesn't miss a beat. Brilliant OS, smooth rendering at 120 fps, bright graphics, wonderful camera, reliable, lightning quick 5G, and now I've paid for it, it's £30 per month for unlimited data.

I had an iPhone 8 before and this is better in every way. More intuitive, easier to repair, and I can do more with it.

I changed to an iPhone on my contract purely because I needed to run an app for work which was only compatible with iPhone.

Didn’t have any problems with the android and haven’t had any with the iPhone.

As long as a phone does the things you want it too then there isn’t anything to choose between the two, but I’m not a techie.

Affordable aside, the iPhone was out about 15 months before the first Android phone (HTC Dream) which still had a hardware keyboard, just for the record.

I do find swappers interesting, in either direction. I do think that 90% of us would be happy with either if we took the time to learn it, we just learn one and tend to stick with it, the change and unknown is what we don’t like, not the phone
