I think it doesn't help with making Christmas this massive thing that must be photo perfect. And I think it puts pressure on people especially at the moment with everything as it is. Should be about spending time with those you love.

No, I don't think it's too early. Retail seasons have always run slightly earlier, it's just the way it works. I don't like the fact Halloween seems to get more scaled back each year though, some places have the smallest amount of stock in August and some don't stock any Halloween stuff at all

Christmas for us is one of the most profitable periods in the year. Our Christmas department is being opened to the public today, I'm looking forward to finding out how much we take today.

I remember one Sat last year we took 22k, just in that department. It was bonkers.

We've had a few bits out over the last 4-6 weeks, calendars, diarys that sort of thing. They've gone and been restocked twice.

People are definitely shopping early this year.

No I don't. Some people find it easier to spread the cost or want to get in the festive spirit earlier and that's understandable. It's been a tough year for many and if it brings someone cheer I'm all for it.

I'm with JAG and her love for it - can't wait to start gathering for wreath building. Cosy snuggly jumpers and scarves donned for night walks to see twinkling lights of cheer. The welcoming smell of delicious food and drink. The joy of seeing loved ones and friends, celebrating being with them. Big blankets and Elf. Nightmare Before Christmas. GREMLINS (deserves caps). Even the carols at this time of year make me smile, I'm going to dust off and rosin up my bow and learn a new piece for Christmas Eve. Love it all.

I really dislike Christmas, but kids love it so I do it. Christmas stuff in shops really trigger me and put me in a huge huge slump. However, I’m changing tactic this year and buying stuff now in hope of a calm December and I can focus on my mental health rather than the pants of christmas
