I like a scarf. I have a predilection for scarves. I love the richness and 'inspirited' feel when wearing a scarf on an effervescently fresh autumnal day. A woolly scarf, a candy-striped scarf, a generously long scarf, a ridiculously short but quaint cashmere scarf, a cotton-rich indulgent scarf, a luxuriant wrap or shawl that exudes self-indulgence from noon until midnight.

A colour cacophony of every imaginable scarf takes pride of place in my scarf drawer. Join me and pay homage to the scarf. More so now as the autumnal nights draw in and we crave for that thermal embrace so obediently wrapped around our 'Gregory Pecks'.

This gentleman loves a scarf.

Does a pashmina count as a scarf?

I love a pashmina on a night out, warm without being as cumbersome as a coat. They have to be soft and fluffy though, I can't be doing with itchy scarves.

I recently 'rationalised' my scarf collection. They range from vintage, hand painted silk to home made and cover pashminas and wraps.

I do not have a scarf drawer. But I do have a scarf box, best to the glove box, and the hat box. There's pleasure in no only the wearing of aforementioned accessory, but also in matching it with other such wintery essentials.

Trendy for work to co-ordinate with outfits. I also use some unusual ways to tie them

Pashminas are a classic fave and absolutely luxury

Soft thick scarves to keep the chill out

My most fav is a big wool wrap that has been all over the world with me. It serves as a cosy snuggled when you’re chilled to the bone on long haul flights. It’s currently serving as a coat of sorts since I can’t get my right arm in a sleeve!

PS: scarves also make great blindfolds!!

I have bought a thick men’s Pashmina to go with my trench coat… I’m looking forward to wearing it out once it gets colder

I love a scarf too, Nero (no idea how I missed this 11 WEEKS AGO, but no-one needed a scarf in September, it was boiling, but I digress).

I won't talk about my favourite scarf as I'll sound like a knob (no-one can mention cashmere without sounding like a knob), so I'll go for sentiment instead: the best thing I inherited after my Grandfather died was his favourite scarf. I don't wear it, but I'll never be parted from it either.

Are they trying to say "Don't even think about looking at my cleavage"?

Or is it to give manoeuvring room so they can give a clear come on signal later by taking it off if they fancy you?

I can't speak for women, but sounds to me like you're overthinking the humble scarf. Standing by to be corrected - perhaps I've been missing 'scarf on/off' signals my whole life!

M has impeccable classic taste and completely upgraded last social outfit with a beautiful plain light purple shade scarf against his black coat and maroon waistcoat. I would argue he outshone me fashion wise without being ostentatious
