I don’t really use it anymore. Either Kerrygold or Lurpak when I get it.

I do buy peanut butter though

Easy-spread 'Lurpak' type butters can be easily made by blending normal butter with a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Different oils will give a unique flavour to the end result.

I live on the border of Normandy. The local butter is so good you could almost eat it by itself, especially the lightly salted version that has grains of sea salt in it. That on a very crispy “Mayenette” small baguette is a meal in itself. I wince when I see the price of butter now

I don't eat it from a spoon. Just small amounts on the tip of a butter knife while idly chatting at the tea table. My mum once substituted margarine to see if I noticed.

Maybe try using margarine that's purposefully for baking? I only ever use real butter for making butter icing as the price is so much more than marg.

But margarine is only for baking, we use real butter for toast etc.
