Cooked breakfast - what do you like?

Serendipity

Might go out for a cooked breakfast later or brunch.

I like bacon, eggs, grilled tomato, mushrooms & crusty toast.

No longer like hash browns - no idea why!

Swap poached for scrambled, add black pudding and maybe fruit pudding if I'm really on it and that's ideal

Kedgeree, always. Eggs Benedict. Smoked salmon. Plenty of sourdough toast with unpasteurised butter. Freshly-squeezed orange juice. Freshly-ground coffee. And half a papaya with black pepper and lime juice.

That'll set you up nicely for whatever the day can throw at you.

I love a full English but I can't abide black pudding. Got to have loads of mushrooms. Try this, boil your mushrooms. Chop them as usual, stick them in a saucepan and add enough water to just cover. Bring them to the boil, and let the liquid reduce until the liquid boils away. Then add a little oil and a little butter, fry them until browned. Cooking them like this intensifies the flavour of the mushrooms. Really brings out the umami flavour.
