As a couple or a single? I kind of got off on the adrenaline feeling but my other half is the oppersit. Advice for her to overcome it and pluck the courage to do it ?

I get off on a adrenaline rush ** we haven't actually gone to a social yet

all over

Mine was a unique one as it was a party at a swingers club.

I was scared and my heart dropped when the first room I walked into was 90% old men.

Thankfully it didn't stay that way and I ended up having one of the best nights I've ever had.

I don’t feel anything when meeting people socially first time in the sense of nerves over excitement .

Only thing that is in my mind is hopefully we get along and not wasted each other’s time but worst case you have a drink make amicable small talk 5/10 min and then part ways . Or you just leave immediately if they are not the person in pics

Yeah same, it's just a thing that's happening. Cool as a refrigerated cucumber

Socials don’t make me nervous even though I’m quite shy!

I love the slightly nervous yet exciting, adrenalin pumping anticipation when you're driving to meet someone new.

I have to deliberately put a work hat on and network - it is not at all natural for me and massively takes me out of my comfort zone.

I am a bit of a loner by circumstances in my hunger days so these things are a challenge for me but you have to go out of your comfort zone to get anything out of life don't you?

Remove all pressure, let her and the people you're meeting know that a social is just that, a social nothing more will happen and she is in complete control of any further interaction.

Exactly this and she will have you there so it shouldn't be too nerve racking .The longer you leave it the worse the thought of it can be though.

I find socials fine as long as you go in there with zero expectations as to the outcome bar having a chat and drink.

Seen it before where some seem to think it's going to be more than that, and act rather inappropriately

How do you feel walking into a strange pub?

It's like that.

One of the joys of suffering from anhedonia is there is no nervous anticipation and no pre-meet excitement.
