"I never liked his character in Rogue one, and for me Star Wars needs Jedi/the force to distance itself from just another generic space show... Even though I know the universe is more than that with lots of rich content to pull from. That was the hook that pulled me in as a kid, space wizards with a laser sword. So it's hard for me to be interested in Andor and what's going on. So I'm biased to begin with. The first 2 episodes were a hard slog, 3rd not all that much better though logically as it goes on it should (if its good) pick up in pacing the further in it gets. Everything else, acting, cinematography, set design etc is spot on and I can't fault it so far. " Just finished the 3rd and I think its getting a little better. But you're right, it doesn't feel like Star Wars. Feels a lot grittier, more Scandi Noir in space than laser sword space wizards Mr

"The best description I've seen said about it "a glass of room temperature water in a beige room" " I think this describes it perfectly. Have seen all the available episodes to date and found myself drifting off in my own thoughts more often than not. It isn't exactly gripping.

"Wondered when it was going to get exciting. Persisted with it and then the series ended. Quite disappointed actually. Loved all the rest of the side stories but this just seemed to have no story, no agenda and no outcome. Reminded me of coming out of a long business meeting with nothing of value and thinking what the F was that all about. " I think there’s still two episodes left, hopefully with a lot more fanfare than the rest of the series

"I'm 2 episodes I'm and finding it tough going to stay interested, is it worth sticking with?" In all honesty all of the episodes are difficult to stick with it picks up maybe last 3 episodes but it does tell a part of the star wars story.

"I've honestly loved it, just like i loved Rogue One, much less flashy and more grounded" I agree. Both felt like they were telling a story and that was the main thing, rather than showing off how good the special effects dept is and then building something around the effects.

"I got bored of it as big a starwars fan i am this is the last jedi of the tv shows so far" Nah, it's not even close to that. The last jedi has issues beyond anything Andor suffers from. Andor is a whole level of different. It's the behind the curtain kind of show, it's not about big heroic acts or anything like that. It's about the cogs within the machine that is the empire and foundations of the rebellion. The people of the universe that are not overlord evil, but are part of something that is tyrannical, willing to do horrible things without remorse. "We are cheaper than droids. And easier to replace" that is a great line and sums up the point of the show. It is closer to a thriller wrapped up in a star wars skin than the sci-fantasy we are used to. A world builder and world expanding show. It is just missing the iconic space wizard and laser sword action for being iconic. Immersion over spectacle. The first episodes were dull, by most standards but it is extremely well written and acted, and as the story progresses it gets better. Great detail for the most part put in. It's telling a pretty damn good story. It shits all over Book of Boba Fett. Mondalorian, it's on level with, but again a different kind of show that you can't really compare. Obi-wan... Terrible other than the Obi and Vader stuff. I still have zero interest in Andor as a character and that's never going to change which certainly drags things down, never a good thing when the main character is an issue for some. A couple of other characters are growing on me though. Give me an old republic, thousands of jedi adventure any day. But I can not fault Andor as a bad show.

"I am seeing a lot of English actors in this series so I wonder if it was produced in England?" As far as I know it was shot entirely in the UK. Locations have included, off the top of my head: - Cruachan Dam in Scotland - The McLaren F1 Technology Centre in Woking - The Barbican in London - Canary Wharf in London - Middle Peak Quarry in Derbyshire - Winspit Quarry in Dorset Most hilariously of all, Andor was arrested by that Shore Trooper right outside the Cove Café on Cleveleys seafront. It's been hilarious seeing American fans talking about "Space Florida" or "Space Cancun" when it's fucking Blackpool.

It's one of the reasons it looks so good — they went to real places and built real sets and filmed real actors there. It wasn't all shot in front of a giant screen like The Mandalorian, or on a bunch of sand dumped in an Los Angeles car park like The Book of Boba Fett.

"I'm loving it, Rogue One is by far the best Star Wars film and this is the best series, why? Well because there is none of the Skywalker/chosen one bollocks, nine of the seriously crappy dialog, no annoying fucking droids (yet) getting the the way of everything. It's inching along, drip feeding just how genuinely inhuman and oppressive the Empire is. It's only downfall - and this sticks with all Star Wars - every one important to the plot is human! " A man of good taste and good opinion. Distinct lack of non human species in this series which is unfortunate, but it looks like it was maybe quite a Covid contained and cheaper production than a usual star wars series? I might be wrong though. And maybe CGI'd studio aliens and associated planets aren't too expensive to incorporate. Anyway, it certainly looks a more austere production and is fucking fantastic. Like you say, really captures the oppressive nature of a regime. Rogue One is insanely good, beautifully sad and definitely in the top 2 Star Wars productions of all time. I was so pleased they didn't kiss - that would have ruined the whole film and all the amazing work

"When are we going to see some real, proper hardcore Sith back story? That would be the absolute bollocks. With little or no Jedi crossover too. Just outright dark side!" Look out for a Disney+ show called The Acolyte. Just gone into production I believe.

"I’ve watched a few episodes and I enjoy the tone of the show. But the lead guy is such a bad actor it’s annoying me. Still it’s much better than all the other Star Wars tv shows. That Obi Wan show was terrible, mandalorian was so/so and all the new movies were dreadful (except rogue one)" I liked obi wan and the mandalorian… and what new movies? There are only 7 Star Wars movies, and I’m sticking to that!!!!
