Contributes 20,000 times more to the ozone layer than a single use disposable one.

Another study showed you would have to reuse it 130 times to have less environmental damage.

What other green things aren't as green as they seem?

Individual carbon footprint.

Distracts us from the monumental damage companies cause and makes us blame ourselves and each other.

The bag I use has had way over 130 outings. Its probably more likely to be 1,300

Yep I saw the study that says you’d have to use it 20,000 times+ to make it environmentally friendly!

It's a systemic problem tbh.

There's quite a lot of crap in Britain about our national reduction of carbon output (I'm thinking of Philip Davies MP in particular), when we've just outsourced manufacturing. The carbon that gets produced for the stuff we use is probably higher than it ever was.

According to a 2018 study by the Ministry of Environment and Food of Denmark, an organic cotton tote needs to be used a whopping 20,000 times to offset its environmental impact.

This is due to the large amounts of energy and water needed to produce it, and its impact on the ozone layer.

That’s the equivalent of using just one tote bag every day for 54 years.
