I think it's unkind to nitpick people's dialect. We all consume enough American media to know what fall means in this context.

I love Autumn / the Fall, breathing cold, crisp air deep into the lungs, walks through the woods scuffing up all the leaves, women in snuggly bobble hats and rosy cheeks … ahhh
