I’m aware it’s a bit old hat and everyone has moved on but even a non royalist like me was very moved by yesterday’s proceedings, did anyone else get caught up in the moment? I was in awe at the marching bagpipes and drums, a moment in history for sure

I had a tear in my eye as the coffin was lowered and you could see Charles welling up. I watched the whole thing and it made me feel proud to be british

The bagpipes and drums were the best bit to the point I’ve gone back and watched those parts about 3 times so far. I wasn’t even going to watch the funeral but changed my mind last minute.

It was a grand and historic occasion for sure.

I’m no great Royalist / Monarchist but I must say I can’t understand a lot of the hate from angry types on Social Media begrudging a State Funeral the Queen, the longest serving monarch in British history.

A once in a generation and possibly lifetime event, It was a fitting send off for her I thought

I made myself watch as an experiment to see if my emotion purge was still holding im glad to say i was emotion free and felt nothing the trumpet guys were cool mind you but the bagpipes made my ears bleed as usual

A very sad but very beautiful service. The procession was breathtaking, made me very proud to be British for sure.

Got very emotional when they removed the crown, orb and sceptre from the coffin to signify the end of her reign, just seemed so final and like the book had closed on her story and what an amazing story it has been

Nothing worse than poorly played pipes but if they're good....they lift the hair on the back of your neck with how emotive they can be. Love them at funerals or ceremonies, very moving.

Haters are drawn to any opportunities to spew nastiness. Usually doesn't matter the topic, the common denominator is their unhappiness.

A happy person can live their likes and leave others to theirs without bitterness that alternatives exist.

I have watched the bagpipes again too, it starts at 2 hours 49 minutes into the 9 hour bbc feed on YouTube, genuinely gave me goosebumps

Being a little bit of a history fan, I'm aware that history is defined in such eras, and the transition from one to another in hindsight is often a time of great change in society, culture etc. I suspect in 25 years when we're doing this again for Charles, we'll realise what a big moment it was/is for the country. What those changes are, only the wise may know.

Just over 8 mins long. Apparently the song being played from the hall to the Abbey was ‘Mist Covered Mountains’ others have said ‘Flowers Of The Forest’ not sure which. They are very mesmerising, such a beautiful moment.

couple, us we him her.

Although it was the queen's funeral it felt like it was also for my mum, due to covid her funeral took place with no one in attendance so it felt like a belated service I was chronically ill with covid at the time myself so even though it was a YouTube feed it felt unreal.

Maybe in a way many people felt the same.

There were a few members of Fab who were part of the proceedings. What an honour it must have been to be part of such an historic event.

I watched most of it and the British certainly know how to these events to perfection.
