Reminds me of being in school when a teacher asks a question and I sink in my seat and avoid eye contact!

Hate washing up!

Never said it would be fun. But surely that warm festive feeling people would get helping someone else would be worth it? And there might be some jam in it for the right person too.

Also making lemon curd if that helps.

The Town by The Cross

I'd never offer to be a potwasher.

I'm a fully paid up member of the Container Cleansing Operatives Union.

If you sterilise them in a huge saucepan, then take them out and they will soon dry on their own.

Sheffield

If you have a dishwasher and can time the cycle so they're still hot when the preserve is ready for potting they are sterilized.

You can also put them into a low oven to keep at optimum temp if you're not quite ready.

I made over 100 pots of jams and jellies last year that way and none turned.

I don't have a dishwasher so no joy there.

I also make a lot of jam and pickles as well as wine etc, so know how to sterilise. Its just so boooooorrrrrnnnnggggg!

Oh well, next time I'll just make my daughter do it.
