Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Kindle Fire is only £160. My sister just got one and she is very picky when it comes to that sort of thing.

You can get the Kindle Fire HD, Google Nexus 7, or even a Samsung Galaxy Tab2

as smaller tablets - but can't tell what the difference between them all ?

Have a read of this comparison article

http://gadgets.ndtv.com/tablets/features/amazon-kindle-fire-hd-7-vs-nexus-7-samsung-galaxy-tab-2-70-kindle-fire-264314

And you won't get any biased forumites telling you it's android vs apple wars going on

With regard to the Kindle Fire, remember there's a Fire and a Fire HD!

But the Fire/Fire HD are heavily biased to Kindle, whereas you can get a tablet and simply download the Kindle app. Far more useful than a Fire/Fire HD, imho.

If it's a 7" tablet you're considering, put '7" tablet' into Amazon search and that'll give you a good starting point.

Do you need a new phone too? Car phone warehouse have offers which include free tablets with certain phones, e.g. Samsung galaxy at £17.50 a month includes galaxy tablet - seems a good offer.

thing is your going to buy this tablet and next year samsung are releasing the galaxy range which are flexible and wafer thin.

you can roll them up and put them in your pocket.

everyone will want that and all these will be cheap on ebay

This is the one I've bought my youngest for Christmas. I've heard good things about it and the price was right

PS

Don't get an expensive cover ... Ebay do covers for every tablet and phone for under a tenner.

Forgetting the Apple vs Android stuff and assuming you already know Android is the way forward I would really steer clear of the Kindle. It is a good bit of kit, no question, BUT it is tied to Amazon with no access to Play Store. I am sure there is a hack out there somewhere but it should be able to access it right out of the box.

That means you are tied to Amazon approved content, where you could buy another tablet that performs as well for the same money, can access all available content and just download the Kindle app.

Just my opinion though

We've been recommended to by the Kindle Fire HD.

Apparently it's as good as an Ipad but half the price.

It's on order now from Argos so we'll see what it's like when it arrives
