Has anyone seen this? Trying to watch but the way every single actor is monotonously mumbling through their lines for eons on end is making me want to throw a brick through the telly.

It's a shame as the plot seems interesting... Is it worth sticking with?

No. Just my opinion like.

For the hype it got as the big first post-lockdown blockbuster I didn’t like it.

But hey, movies are subjective aren’t they?

You might love it

I'm halfway through. I'll probably stick with it tbh but it's driving me mad

abruzzo Italy (and UK)

I’ve not seen it but heard that the dialogue is impossible to hear. Put the subtitles on and see if it’s any better

Christopher Nolan films usually are complicated.

I know what you mean. I thought it was ok. 2.5 hrs was abit long. John David Washington is a charismatic actor but we didn’t see this side of him in this movie. Probably my least favourite Christopher Nolan film

Not seen it as it had pretty universally bad reviews.

Yeah that's how I'd describe it. "okay". Would have been good if they'd put some of it in layman's terms, and let the actors fucking emote a little bit. They were all like dead eyed robots.

Watch "The Prestige" instead. Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, and David Bowie doing a cameo as Nikolai Tesla.

I found the plot pretty fascinating and some of the set pieces and action is really awesome.

You’re not alone on the mumbling as everyone I’ve spoke to has said the same thing.

It’s definitely interesting but it’s not his greatest piece of work

Definitely recommend as well! Best Nolan film in my eyes

Yeah, totally agree about The Prestige. His best film in my opinion.

Tenet is his worst. Indulgent, plodding and deathly dull.

Tbh, I saw all the reviews and plot breakdowns long ago and I've yet to watch it, so I'll be going in prepared to actually have the slightest shot at understanding it.

Am I doing it backwards, yes, do I care, nah. To be fair, I'm probably on trend for seeing it as the director intended

Be interesting to see how it pans out, I've always enjoyed Nolan's work.

I hated it. I. Mean really detested it.

I'm all for complex films. I like having to think about things and be challenged a bit. But this? This was just a mess.

Christopher Nolan had an interesting idea. People can travel backwards through time while others travel forwards. That's got potential.

Then it seemed he wrote down everything he possibly could that used that idea. A car chase in which one person is there in two capacities - one going forwards, one going backwards. A man going forwards has a fight with himself going backwards. Two armies attack a target, one going backwards and one going forwards.

Then he mixed it all into a pot, ate it, and shat it out onto celluloid. He would not let anythinggo. If he'd had an idea, he was damn well going to crowbar it in there somehow. The elements were very loosely held together by a barely comprehensible plot that I suspect was actually pretty weak. I would view it again to try and understand it but I just couldn't care less.

What was the point of the two armies thing? No explanation given. Why did he attack himself? No explanation given. Did Kenneth Branagh's character have more that two dimensions? Why was he so upset about a painting? I don't know and I don't care.

I thought the whole thing was a load of utter crap from beginning to end. Luke

This is a funny video sending up Christopher Nolan movies, just like they deserve to be in my opinion:
