A recent Cautionary Tales podcast talks about the dangers of mixing imperial and metric, and imperial is so lacking logic (just my take) though I love a Chain as it's the distance between the wickets in cricket!

Though I did learn that the reason aviation talks about flying at so many feet is so it differentiates between altitude which is always in feet and distance which is always in kilometres.

Useless fact of the day. You're welcome!

Feet and inches, stones and pounds.

You throw any combination of those, I get an immediate idea of scale.

Go metric, I'm fucked.

If I'm doing anything DIY related though and you start spouting inches or imperial nonsense I'll lose it.

That's how I think about miles. A mile is a distance internally consistent with other distances in miles, for which I have no reliable frame of reference unless I convert it.

Height in feet and inches. Never remember which is ' and whic is " tho.

Tho tbh when someone on says they are give four eight, I'd be rubbish at guessing how tall they are.

Weight in kg. It's one number to remember.

Nwver cared about petrol. I put it on til it stops filling and drive until it's almost empty. Pay no attention to how many miles it does.

Everything else I use metric, especially if I'm gonna have to do some sums.

I've got a metal Mequix floor pump, one screw in valve head with a built in twisting plunger schraeder. Not cheap, but 17 pumps will fill a 700c tyre to 90psi. I've even use it on the car's tyres.

Much easier than a trad car pump or push on pumps, that snap valves.

Metric all the way, especially for measuring weight and cooking it is a no brainer.

"Some what alarmed when I see wheel chair tyres have to be inflated to 100psi are you sure that is correct it is highly dangerous, I was once hospitalised by an exploding tyre that left me with severe head injuries, that probably goes some way to explain why I am like I am."

Yep! They're rated up to 120psi and whilst I've had basketball chair inner tubes pop, the inner tubes are within bicycle tyres and you just get a flat. No-one or thing has ever been injured. Makes one heck of a noise though

There's no head injuries happening with wheelchair tyres.

^^^In fact, upon inspecting my day chair tyres, they're rated from 85psi to 145psi. So putting 110-120psi in is absolutely fine.

1.83 and 90kg, didn’t we scrap the other system 52 years ago? This is so British to cling on to the past.

You measure your height.. What units make sense to you?

I'm a feet and inches, stones and pounds kind of guy.. "

Learned imperial, but for years worked in freight business using metric. So some things I always think of in metric, some in imperial. My height is imperial, my Wright is taken in metric, but I always convert so I get a better idea of my weight, which is weird. My daughters are totally metric.
