"Tapas is meant for sharing, loads of small dishes and you take your share to your plate. " Nah ....... Not when others ask for what they like and then eat yours...... Things like sharing need to be up for discussion BEFORE ordering.

"You’re all wrong, Tapas is a small item of food that comes free when you buy an alcoholic drink in Spain, not for sharing, especially if you’re on your own. The “tapas” we get in England has got sweet FA to do with real tapas." Just like Chinese food and Pizzas

Though that also reminds me of buffets when the meat eaters eat all the veggie bits and leave behind only sausage rolls.

Suggest proving a meatless menu and they flip ...... serve some tasty vegan stuff and they hoover it up and leave you the chicken legs n eggs......

"So you've gone to a tapas bar. What do you do? Are you the sort to share tapas or order just for you? " Wait a minute. All bars have taps, how else do you get the beer out? Why do you call it a tapas bar, like its better than other bars or something? Sounds stupid to me. Wouldn't go. Much prefer a Spoons, Walkabout, any reputable big chain bar. Sharing is for losers anyway, winners take.

The “tapas” we get in England has got sweet FA to do with real tapas." Tapas don't come for free Most bars have a display of food you can order as a tapa, usually costs a couple of euros each. The tapas in England are similar recipes but served in larger portions.

It would be something like a piece of bread with cheese or meat, maybe a slice of sausage or bulls kidney. Things like patatas bravas and boquerones are traditional Spanish dished served in small portions and called “tapas” just for the benefit of tourists. The tourists then wanted it at home, the rest is history……

I quickly learnt that you needed to sit near the kitchen door as the best stuff never got as far as the bar

Free tapas now are extremely rare and mostly as a curiosity.

" I'd share and you can keep the jalpeño p0ppers " Jalapeño p 0 p p 3 r being a “tapa” is a sacrilegious as pineapple on pizza. Having been born in the land of jalapeños (Xalapa, Veracruz), I fail to see who on earth came up with such a vomitive concoction that is the jalapeño p o p p 3 r.
