Favourite things about autumn..

..are we in autumn now?

Anyway, I feel like autumn might be my favourite season. It feels like things slow down a bit from the activities of the summer. Gives chance to reflect about what changes to make next year.

Also, bonfire night, pumpkin spice lattes and the crispness in the air.

Big piles of leaves to scrunch through on walks. Snuggling up in front of the fire with a hot chocolate. The storms starting so i get to go driftwood hunting down the beach. Apples strait off the tree. Having stew for supper with crusty bread. That crisp bite in the air when you go out. All the leaves changing colour.

At least in early Autumn the temperature is still quite pleasant to be outside in and usually dry.

It’s all pine and spruce trees where I live so we don’t get the leaves . And venison casserole on the aga

All of this, absolutely.

Summer just gets too full and autumn comes in and sweeps it all away. We have become too fat and it is time to go on a diet !

Actually prefer autumn its not too cold, perfect weather for long walks and the changing colour of leaves in the park makes its look pretty.

I love Autumn & winter! Cosy days at home with candles and blankets, tea and biscuits, the beautiful colours of the trees and leaves, wrapping up warm for nice walks, open log fires in country pubs, autumn/winter fashion - nice coats, knitwear, cute skirts and dresses with tights and boots, apple crumble, bonfire night and knowing that Christmas is on the way

Autumn is bittersweet - the summer has gone, the days are drawing in and it’s getting cooler… but it’s lovely to see the leave turn colour, the bright sun on a bracingly cold morning, the sound of rain on the windows….

I sometimes struggle with it. The dark, the expense of Christmas.

But I do like wearing knits,and tights and boots with a cute dress, the colours in nature, home made soups and stews.

I’m struggling to think of any and that includes my birthday… Autumn means the end of summer, shorter, colder days and long nights. Its a pity we humans can’t hibernate - I’d happily stock up and sleep from November to March

And men in snuggly jumpers. Honestly that juxtaposition between a man's body and the soft fabric is one of my favourite things. Such a beautiful reply, love Autumn and everything about it. Feels like my season and I can embrace every part of it, the seasonal drinks, walking through the woods and foraging for delights to be crafted in to crumbles and cakes. Stompy boots and cute little dresses. Fishnet tights. Berets. Horror films. Lying in bed and listening to the rain outside. The joy of Halloween. Celebrating my (pre) birthday with beautiful friends.
