they had VIP passes, obviously its a thing, I'd have used it if I'd been given one. However if I knew David Beckham was in the queue I'd have given my pass to someone else and stood next to him for thirteen hours

There actually is no Vip list to see the Queen lying in state. The only people that can skip the line are members of the armed forces, MP's and their families and People with press passes which obviously Holly and Phil were able to get but there have been loads of celebrities in the queue but most of them have asked not to be filmed.

I went to see the Queen line in state today. We joined the accessible queue to get a wristband at 11 AM. We got a time slot wristband at 5.26pm for 10 to 11pm. We filed past around 10.30pm.

David Beckham and other celebs have only queued as long as it is safe to do so. If crowds gather or there is a disturbance because of them, they have people ready to pull them out safely so not to put any members of public at risk

I heard he groomed the kid and fired him.

Jumped the Q when old,young and disabled waited hours and hours.

Anybody in the queue is fully aware of the time it will take before they join the queue, if you don’t want to or can’t, wait that long , probably best not to queue.

If any of the above were offered a fast track from their queue position are you suggesting they should decline the offer.

If I was going and was given the opportunity to not have to queue , bloody right I’d take the offer.

If they have a pass them they have a pass. All this fuss of standing in a queue for 12 hours on your feet. Many nurses and NHS workers are on their feet for 12 hours every shift.

I don't get this either. There's also a weird sense of irony in getting upset over not everyone being treated the same in a queue to see someone who was only in the position she was in because of the family she was born into. At least Holly and Phil had to actually earn their jobs. I think the Queen was a pretty decent lady but that's just luck really. If her children had been born in a different order we could be preparing to crown King Andrew right now.

The country is divided into two these days especially with the cost of living crisis. Those who have and those who have not.

These two were in a game in which your fuel bills would be paid for a few months (not even a year). They would’ve had final say if they thought it would be inappropriate to do that. Twitter went off on one over that.

A couple of weeks later and they’re seen ‘queue jumping’ Philip Schofield is a love or hate him personality. Due to his ‘coming out’ love cheat confession and Holly backing him up. Also doing selfies with Boris and giving Corbyn a hard time can also be remembered by some on social media.

So it’s not hard to see why they can be perceived as part of the Establishment, VIP’s when in fact they’re just TV Presenters. Who definitely shouldn’t have been given preferential treatment when ordinary people and other celebrities queued up.

I am sure most people would have done the same if they had ‘fast track’.

They paid their respects which is the thing we should focus on?

David beckham is next level famous so probably had his own security around him to prevent any issues arising. Phil & holly maybe couldn’t provide that and therefore might possibly have prevented any issues that could arise from celebrities being in public for extended periods ?

All getting rather silly ...the so called news channels interviewing someone about a ham sandwhich and even about the other tupperware box that had TOMATOES in it and she'd made the sandwhich at 5 o clock in the morning ???and family who brought their mum ashes to see the "Queen" ??? in other NEWS some nurses who got their 4% payrise and it was back dated but so was their increased contributions to their pensions and they now owe the Government £170 ???? as we prepare to spaff millions on ...for one of the worlds richest females/familes plus King charles escaping paying £200 million in taxes ??

Wow, that's quite sad reading some of the posts in this thread.

As people employed by ITV for a TV show, they were offered and quite rightly took press passes to get easy access. They were filming for Tuesdays show. Its the same as people moaning about MPs being allowed in. They have earned the right to do so. 90% of the people commenting on this thread won't have gotten out of bed let alone attempted to queue so the moral outrage is quite hilarious at best. They didn't take anyone's place, everyone here had the opportunity to pay their respects, some did, some didn't.

People seem to completely disregard that their passes were probably organised by their management team so they could get footage for the show. Beckham doesn't have a show with a strict schedule and a responsibility to cover major events like Phil and Holly.

No idea who phill and sally are but my friend took some kids she nanny’s for to Disneyland , the parents are millionaires, so one kid has dyslexia so has the theme park pass for whole family to bypass al queues because obviously queuing for a ride would add stress to this disabled child and family.

Kids without dyslexia queue all day and are fine , they never moan or get hot or bored.

Maybe Phil has dyslexia ?

That's the point they can't get footage as nobody other than the official live feed is allowed to film or report from inside there. Any press who are filing past are told before they go in they are not allowed to report on anything that happens while they are in the hall.

That's actually not true they have closed the accessible line even though I know for an absolute fact all time slots have not been given. Closed the queue at 5 PM yesterday for accessibility access, The last people in the queue were given time slots for this afternoon which means there would have been plenty of time slots available.

They were there to report on the experience of seeing the queen lying in state. How can they do that without actually walking past the queen lying in state? Just because they weren't walking round with a film crew in their face does not mean they were not there in a reporting capacity.

Dear old Becks hasn't got a TV show that he needs to be on to entertain the masses so he could spend a bit longer queing up I'm guessing.
