Just been diagnosed with not one, but two. Feel a relief to know what the pain is but now panicking I won’t be able to work. The greatness of being self employed, not.

Get yourself some income insurance today

Then wait a few weeks and claim on it

I get up to £2800 a month if I can’t work

Luckily i have some but it’s more the fact that I may not be able to carry on in the career that I love

I had a bad herniated disc years ago. Thought the same. It can get better. Don’t worry. Start walking. Long walks are great if you can manage it

Get more advice. Surgery is forever. You could do a year of rehab first and see where you end up

Surgery isn’t always the answer

BSE

If you xrayed 1000 people, nearly 75% plus would have evidence of disc damage.

What are your symptoms ?

What was the cause ?

What have you done to treat the current pain ?

Have you tried exercising?

I worked as an exercise therapist in a back rehab unit for 5 years.
