Does anyone feel better and feel more relaxed and refreshed when they come home?

Our holidays are quite knackering, so yes

Depends on the length of the holiday. One week I’m still knackered. Two weeks plus .. usually wound down fully and chilled .. for 2 minutes until reality kicks in again

Not even a little.

I'll relax for the middle couple of days but the start and end are a hell of planning, packing and marshalling the troops there and back.

I'm planning a trip without kiddos soon though.

It's my reward for surviving years 2020-2023

My last one was wandering round the Atlas Mountains. So physically I was a bit fucked but my mind was wonderful.

I can highly recommend a little-known place called London for a weekend break without the kiddos...

Feel great during the holiday but the minute I'm back at work, it's like no holiday ever happened!

This is where our both being divorced and living separately really works for us - every other week we get a holiday at my place sans kids

It's bliss - she doesn't have to do any chores as it's not her place and I love to cook so I get to show off my culinary skills and she gets to let the weight lift off. Oh and I book her some ad hoc visitors to cater to her sexual whims and desires too. Holiday time every other weekend

I come home early if I miss my cat too much.

Very few holidays are truly relaxing these days unless you go somewhere with hardly anyone around. Usually you are surrounded by loud people, screaming kids, excessive behaviour, not to mention mediocre service and food, no matter how hard you try to avoid all that. On top of that you spend days preparing and packing cases etc, then all the hassle with travelling, it takes a few days to settle and then you start worrying it's all over soon and back to where you started. I do love a nice holiday though and sometimes you can get lucky and manage that relaxation you crave or make sure you have a couple of days off back at home left still to unwind

Absolutely not. I need a home holiday to recover from an away holiday.

No, it takes me about 4 days to properly wind down and get in the holiday mood. I always need a holiday after a holiday

"Does anyone feel better and feel more relaxed and refreshed when they come home?"

Yes. I go alone and the soul purpose of my holiday is to relax and unwind in the sun.

You'd probably need a local to guide you to the best sites...
