to bake a xmas cake? I know it's best to start early (they say usually around 3 months) to give you plenty of time to let it mature and 'feed' it with plenty of booze. I was thinking of giving it a go this weekend, or do you think it's too early.

Now is the time! Then a regular weekly drizzle of brandy to keep it moist. Get on it!

Caerphilly

A bit late, in my opinion. A few years ago I started a cake in March and fed it regularly until Xmas with a variety of booze.

Best Xmas cake ever!

Have fun!

Go for it, But don't overdo the Brandy thing.

I made mine in June along with a few Christmas Puddings.

Will be making my own mincemeat for the Mince pies next week.

I thought everyone will be screaming it's top ear. Glad to see others have already done theirs.
