But when you go to funeral or go pay your respects to someone lieing in state .wouldnt you put on suit or a smart outfit.I may sound old fashioned .but I do give my respect to those that went I just think formal clothing should be worn .

"Definitely wear black."

At least this. Though I would tend toward a suit

Nope I just don't understand people turning up in casual clothes if your offering you respects

I’d say with the length of queues it’s probably not always practical to go suited and booted - currently at 2.4 miles long.

Also the Queen loved colour so I’d like to think she’s looking down with a smile regardless

Maybe they just managed to get there without going home for a change. The most important thing is showing respect

In the west.

I'm going to a funeral of an old workmate next week. I will go in my work clothes as I'm just going to the crematorium then back to work. If I was going to the full thing I'd wear a suit and tie.

I can really see that was an excuse but I can't argue with them having my respect for turn up and paying respects for the rest of us that haven't .but we all pay our respects innour own private way .
