Before COVID struck we used to have an office staff regularly in of about 18 a day....when it struck a lot of people were giving working from home contracts but my role wasn't, I'm now in the office once or twice a week but often the only person in...keeping motivated is so difficult anybody else experiencing anything similar and have any tips to keep motivated?

Yes! Regularly have hardly anyone in the office. I just so timed spouts of work before a 5 minute break to stretch my legs. Basically the pomodoro technique. Also call colleagues and work together on a call so I have someone to talk to. That helps with loneliness. Don’t forget to go out at lunch time to see other humans. That’s all I got.

Do they monitor your internet usage?

If not an hour of Doom/Fortnite then? Or whatever the crazy young things are playing?

Yeah sometimes I can be the only one from my department. Best tip Headphones! I listen to music and meet Mr for lunch which helps the hours tick by. But honestly those are the only days I can get any work done. At home there are too many distractions

Maybe find yourself a lunch time buddy in the area off here

Excel used to have a hidden Flight Simulator biult in. Work eventually took it off so you couldn't have any fun! Bastards.

I quite like online Mahjong....

You have the best office in the world, be grateful. Only downside you will have to check the weather yourself as there's no one there to give you a constant update.
