A fair bit of it was filmed in Glasgow , for example there's the Volcano night club.

"Jaws was a mechanical rubber shark…" The reason it takes so long for the shark to appear in the film is that the mechanical shark kept breaking down. It doesn't appear until about an hour into the film.

"Nicholas Cage, a lifetime comic book reader, prepared for his role as Johnny Blaze a.k.a. Ghost Rider by spending six months setting fire to his own head every day before someone sat him down and explained CGI to him over a glass of milk, the mad lad. " To prepare for his role in Face Off, Nicholas Cage wore the faces of dead homeless people he found round the back of L.A. cinemas. He skinned then using an antique butter knife he stole from a local pawn shop and used Brad Pitt's mums Pritt Stick to stick the flesh to his face. He only stopped once the director told him he wasn't going to actuall be wearing John Travolta's face in the movie, he was just supposed to pretend. Over a glass of milk.

"In Die Hard, the crew didn't tell Alan Rickman when they were going to drop him (for the final scene) The look of surprise is totally 100 percent genuine" That's right. Rickman was suspended by a cable about 10m up. The director announced that he was going to count 1 - 2 - 3 and then the stunt coordinator was going to cut the cable for him to drop. The director had actually told the stunt coordinator to ignore those instructions and drop him on 2 to get a better reaction on Rickman's face! Rickman subsequently talked about this with a mixture of good humour and thinking the director was a total bastard.

"Steve McQueen jumped the wire in The Great Escape on a British not German bike. Fact 2. The Wild One. Triumph bikes not Harleys."
