What do you think of it?

3 episodes in and I still don't know what to make of it.

Watched one episode Sky shared on YouTube. It’s got a nice GOT feel about it, but I’ll reserve my review until I’ve seen a few more episodes.

Loving it very much.

Didn’t read the book but I think it’s been very very good. Excited to see where the season goes and it’s been renewed too

Very good but a real shame to be losing Milly Alcock in a couple episodes time due to the time jumps, as she has been the star for me so far.

To be fair I posted this midway through the 3rd episode and by the end of it. I'm definitely a fan now.

Glasgow / London

I wasn’t hooked until episode three. Too much focus on the royal court and posh people doing boring posh things. Not enough grit.

But even so, that third episode got me interested. So I’ll keep watching.

It’s not a patch on GoT though.

Glasgow / London

Back in the middle of GoT’s golden years, I was on down in London for a date. (Yes, she was absolutely worth travelling all that way.) We went for afternoon drinks by the river. We went for dinner. We carried on for more drinks in other bars. She was gorgeous and things were going great. But it was Game of Thrones night. So she invited me straight back to her place so we could watch it together. We rushed to the station, squeezed on to a packed train and made it just in time for the titles to start rolling. She even found a bottle of wine already chilling in her fridge.

Now *that’s* a great first date. She really should have been a keeper …

Episode 3 has been the most boring of the lot

This is coming from someone who was obsessed with GoT and read all the books numerous times.

Hasn’t got the character pull of GOT, not invested in them as much yet, saying that matt smith character is starting to get interesting . As a stand alone I’m enjoying- just try not to compare the two

It's an awkward show to pull off, and no matter what the start was always going to be quite slow and very talkative. Even more so than Thrones. The end of the latters first episode ended with a huge wtf moment that kicked things off.,with bran being pushed out the window. So far there is no big conspiracy or hook in the same way, though plenty to come.

Having read the book I know where it is leading, so I'm more invested and hooked by what they are trying to do with the early episodes.

As I've said elsewhere, the show spans 30 years of story, so far we have jumped about 3 years, give or take. The main bulk of the action and backstabbing with consequences and true stakes happens during the final 2-3 years of the story. With things beginning to ramp up about 10 years in to the story - which is roughly when Milly Alcock is age jumped to be Emma Darcy.

One big difference between the 2 shows is that GoT was potentially who will die this week, compared to HotD which is more who is the villain this week - because you may love/hate character x one week, then feel the opposite for them the next. You never truely know who you should be rooting for.

Ok this note, a real shame we couldn't see Rhaenyra's knockers in episode 4 were very well hidden
