"I've been noticing it when doing my online shop. It will say that one of my favourites is out of stock but I can replace it with 'this'. 'this' looks identical bit on closer inspection is smaller but either the same price or more expensive. I don't know if it's cheating but it is misleading " I agree, nearly half of items on my list fid the same, showing out of stock but really was the change in size or price snd often both

"Make sure you count the chips they give you when you order at a restaurant and report your findings to Facebook. You’ll notice that they’re doing us out of chips too. " Don't you need to take girth and length into account ?

"I have the occasional fish and chips and the size of the fish I am sure was smaller last time though it was still good and I probably prefer that than pay much more. " Go to the chippy I do, the fish are massive, hangs over the end of the tray

"This has been going on for many years and is nothing new. I used to work in a warehouse and every single day we had 20+ products that wouldn't scan in due to a change in pack size or grammage and they had to be assigned a new barcode. " But every little helps ...apparently

"Have you noticed how slices, grams, portions etc. seem to be quietly reducing in standard everyday food items? The price increase is often more than you first think when not only the price increases but you notice the amount has also quietly been decreasing. Ps. I just noticed that there was one less slice of ham in the packet prompting my outburst. " I've worked in the same supermarket for nearly 9 years and I noticed around February/March that they shrunk the toilet paper!! In the past, I could get only 2 on a shelf before the dividers got in the way and now I can squeeze in three!! One of the perks of working at a supermarket is the amount of end-of-day food they just give us for free and the employee discount on sale items. I've got about 5 types of fish in my freezer that I got free. I grew up on an island and my parents kept the freezer full of fish. I'm not sure why British Islanders are adverse to fish but more for me!!

Well, with toilet paper you definitely need to read how many sheets per roll are on as it varies considerably and sometimes the pack them to look big but aren't. I am with you re fish. I love fish and more of it than anything else. It's nice though when you have a big fish market close by as some of the fish you get in the supermarket can get a little boring after a while, even from their fishmonger counter.

"I get really pissed off when I see 2 packages of the same thing side by side. My Tesco do it with Flakes. A 9 pack is £2.25 but the 4 pack beside it is £1.25, that makes you think the 9 pack is better value but when you look at the price per 100g, low down and in small print, it's a different story. " Are the flakes the same size? Because if so......the 9 pack is better value as two 4 packs would be £2.50 for 8 flakes. One less. 25p more. Because maths.......... A

" Oh definitely - and now, for example, there's 5 cereal bars in the same size box that used to have six in - but they put them sideways so the box still feels full! Bastards.

A" To complicate things more, when I was in Morrisons recently, I noticed a box of flakes which were intended for ice cream (99's). I felt like I was doing a maths exam trying to figure out which was the cheapest of the 3 flake products while standing in the freezer isle. I must have looked insane!

" I spent the last nearly 9 years reading supermarket price tickets/labels. My supermarket just changed the layout..allegedly for the new less fat, salt and sugar regulations coming in October...personally I think it's a ruse just to make people walk in circles to look for items. It's a tiny store but there is chocolate and crisps in three different locations. The wine is also in three different locations...... Maybe it's a London thing.

Same water I go swimming in and get a mouthful... Lol! I'm just glad to have made it to 40 without Covid and suicidal ideation trying to end me. Couple of my schoolmates haven't been so lucky. About three people in my peer support never made it to retirement. Fish waters is the least of my worries. I have bigger fish to fry. Lol! Valar Morghulis.
