"See, I loved this film as a child. But I can see if it's redone a whole new generation would love it. " This. I tried to watch it with my kids last Christmas and they insisted I turn it off because "the effects are terrible, Mum!".

"See, I loved this film as a child. But I can see if it's redone a whole new generation would love it. " I also loved it. But let's face it, it is certainly a movie that has not aged well, and the book is so much better too. I don't understand the hate for remakes and reboots. They either turn out good, and do it justice bringing new fans to it. Or it ends up bad, but the original still exists, and just goes to prove the original is better and/or just as good as it always was.
